* There's just a couple of games (Newcastle vs Tigers / Raiders vs Warriors) that aren't included in the above numbers because they were pk games where I couldn't really remember / determine who was the favourite by kickoff.
* One of the main reasons I wanted to take a look back at some of these numbers was a suspicion I had that underdogs tend to fare pretty well on sunday afternoons. Clearly they do !

Great work. Maybe you could have included 2pt spread matches along with pick ems? Not that it matters, though.

analysis of this numbers shows that the 37-26 is a bit off the charts. This number should regress back to 50% as the season progresses. Friday night dogs is also off the charts and should regress too
the 19-9 is a strange one, it seems pretty much in line with expectations. Never would have though that

As mentioned, the sunday trend was the main reason I decided to have a dig. For as long as I can remember sunday afternoon has been a bad one for me TIPPING wise.
A lot of you guys can probably relate, but the old office tips tend to get done at 5:28pm on friday afternoon when you're halfway out the door and (if you're anything like me) they're generally just the squarest, most obvious picks, top heavy with favourites (and most of the time you end up BETTING against half the teams you TIP ).
So I was interested to see what the deal was with sunday afternoons and sure enough, this season at least, the dogs have barked.
If there are (dare I say it) any NERDS out there who keep records of this sort of thing from yesterfar, it'd be interesting to see if this trend has any history to it

i have all the records in a database going back to the mid 90's. If I can find the SQL again I will run everything off. If I can't find it it will take a ahile

i have a system trend which is based on home underdogs winning straight up, then fading them if they are away favs next week, all i can say is I haven't had many bets of this type, very few home dogs win straight up
do you have head to head stats, not just ATS
