What a dramatic finals this has turned out to be, we have the last year's wooden spooners, a team that looked like this year's wooden spooners during the season and the two teams who are always in the mix this time of the year.

Without a doubt the storm are the team to beat again. Playing for 4th consecutive GF, outstanding.

But the reason why I'll be fading the storm is simple, they are ordinary on the road this season and yes I'm gonna go ahead and say it... they are the grand final chokers. Their only premiership win was against my beloved sea eagles who saved their worse performance on the GF night (first GF in 10 years with the halfback we have, excusable) but hey they redeemed themselves right. Therefore I'll be looking elsewhere for this year's winner.

I'm gonna stick with my gut feeling and bulldogs it is. They are the actual comp leaders this season (what happen in penrith was their wrong doing but they were robbed by the video ref at kograh). Dogs hold the best home record this season 12-1 @ ANZ stadium, hold one of the best finals record and I'm getting 3 to 1 for this team. They have been the most consistent team and have the forward pack that has dominated the comp all season.

My only concern is Hayne and his boys but I'm confident the doggies can saved their best for this game and carry the confidence into the grand finale.

Money might pour in for the eels during the week but I'll take it now, just in case I change my mind.

Will prob have a bet on the totals for the other PF. Generous odds released by the books for this game, 1.435 for the storm against the banged up broncs and the line only set at 7.5   hmmm...  tempting but I'll pass, only interested on the total for this game.

Don't know why I'm going against the team with all the momentum but more pressure has been asserted on the eels with everyone expecting them to win the grand final. I'm sticking with my gut feeling on this one Oz,  throughout the season I always thought the doggies will play in the grand final and with the price I'm getting, I believe it's worth a shot.

Also I think the bulldogs top 2 finish to the season is getting overlooked here because of what happened with the dragons, I was more impressed with the doggie's win over the knights rather than eel's second go at the dragons and last week against the first time finalists titans. I don't care about the point deduction and the blind video ref, the bulldogs finished top of the table and deserve the minor premiership and I'm sure they'll finish off this season with that in mind.

Well I'm thinking it this way, I'm getting even money against the 8th side and $4 for them to win two more games at home.

The storm deserve the favoritism and have hit their best form leading into the GF, but if the eels can reproduce their second half performance from friday night, the wait is over for the parra fans.

NRL will not suspend Hayne for the big game.

wow...what a game! Best fucking GF since '03 imo, this is what rugby league is all about.

Inglis delivered the premiership for his side once again, that 50th min try was huge. Storm were getting bit shaky in the end but credit to them for holding on, their defense was superb.

If I had it over again I wouldn't change a thing, it was anyone's game. Thanks to Archer for killing it in the end, that was a perfect tackle by moi moi and what a game by this fella. 

Like I said before, this was a 50/50 game and I stick by it, storm have been the 1st half team and the eels have outplayed teams in the second.
Congratulations to the storm and their supporters.

Looking forward to next season, competition is getting better each year.

Tough season for me but I didn't die wondering. To the good people of the rugby forum wish you all the best with your future bets and hope to see you back here next season. Busy times ahead for me next year and will be traveling abroad during the season kickoff but hopefully I can find time to do this all over again, I do enjoy posting my plays here and it does keep me focused with the bets I make, if that makes any sense. Like everyone here, I'm in this to win otherwise what's the point, sports betting is a marathon so I hope to improve as time goes on, I'll learn from the mistakes I've made this season and aim for a better one next year.

Oh and also..Slater gets the Clive Churchill they were many that were better than him in the game, surely Cronk deserved it more.

Now back to the drinks for me, enjoy the rest of the long weekend fellas.
