I am no expert on World Rugby, but isn't -120 on New Zealand to win a very reasonable number?  They are the home country, and the torunament is 7 weeks long, which means that whoever they play in the finals will have been on a 2 month long road trip.  NZ is the best team in the world and I don't see them losing at home.  I'd make this line -250.

Rugby experts, please let me know your thoughts, and if this is a sucker bet.

haha this is asking for u to bet.

NZ loses all the time in the quaters and semis like all the time. If they have to play france they have no chance. wait till they pick the team., If they go for old players NZ wont win, if they go for the young stars then they have a good chance

I think you need old heads to win a World Cup.

Henry benched our best players last time and then France cameback and won. Some will say a forward pass beat us, but really it was a shocking coaching decision to take McCaw and Carter off with plenty of time on the clock.

That is not a good price to take NZ though, you'd be better off backing them to win the Tri Nations as aussie will be 'preparing' which is another word for 'we suck atm'.. and SA's team look just as bad....

NZ winning the WC is like the England soccer team winning. Everyone thinks you should win, but doens't provide much evidential backup to prove so. I wouldn't bet something a team has only won 1/6, but in saying that, you'll be throwing money away backing any other team except NZ, AUS, SA... and if England or France win then I'll do a merry naked dance.

Couple of  things are for near certain 1) -120 is a terrible price and 2) They are highly likely to hit a rough point at some stage during the tournament, at which point the outright price will blow right out on the fair. Whether that be down 7 points in a semi final, near halftime......Should be able to get +300 or better.

Just send the Crusaders team out there.

Strongly disagree all we ever do is play old heads and gues what we dont win. They say dont change something that aint broke. Well this is broke so needs to be changed. Instead of picking a good defensive team that has no flear pick youngsters with lots of flear who will score alot of tryies and win games that way. Teams will struggle to play that team.

Alrighty Snake. Lets see this example..

    Mils vs Rene Ranger.

Who do you want in the final when your team is up by 5pts with the opposition on the line.... You want Mils.. Young, (talented) players like Ranger can score awesome tries when the defense is tired, but when it matters, the 'old heads' will win you the game everytime...

I dont see any young players in the backline in the finals except SBW(who really isn't very young).... Cowan, Carter, SBW, Ma'a, Conrad, Mils, Sivi.. no young new guys there, and none needed.

Not sure about the forward pack.

My argument wasn't a positional one Davonz....

Dagg is in the same category... For a WC? No, perhaps next years tri-nations, but he should be on the bench and play the silly pool games...

I just don't see why you would compare the two as mils is going to be on the field no matter what guy is on the wing , Dagg will be in the WC squad, as per him already being in the All Blacks training camp right now

    Guy is the next Mils

no doubt he won't start ahead of mils, and we have other specialist wingers better than dagg...he will definitely be in the 30 and most likely in the 22

Bump, and thanks for the great input.  I am just getting into Rugby a little bit, since I started getting a channel that shows a ton of Rugby.

-120 looks great now for New Zealand, since 5dimes now has the line at -200.

Any updated news on the rosters?

The line is short coz we whipped both ozi and South Africa. At the moment if was betting man i would say throw down on Aussie v NZ final mate.

All Blacks look very good in their first couple hit outs.
