yes, most of them are.

You see, until recently the books were not allowed to advertise in NSW, Vic, etc. So how do they get their name out there? Creating bullshit, and that gets them in the paper and on TV. The worse 2 are Sullivan and Unportingbet and Tripp at Sportsbet. I have been restricted to a few measly dollars at Sportingbet and yet some guy can have millions on a horse? Matt Tripp talks about guys have half a million on Origin games?

I know for a fact the numbers that one book releases are not even remotely close to the real bets.

These things you quoted earlier, plus John Schells articles on a Friday in SMH and the TAB press release in the Telegraph are mainly used to attract punters to a side to balance their books or to attract money to a side they want to lay

I remember talking about this last year. I remember saying that I thought it was the biggest load of shit I had ever heard.

Second is right,all them bets are bull,bookies are pussies,they dont take them type of bets



Only time they will let you put thousands and thousands on something is if the thing your betting on is like $1.04 because there payout wont be much at all and there's a chance that will still lose

As far as I know, all of those big wagers that are posted are from TAB only, not any of the other Aussie books.  I don't think any book would want to publish those, but TAB somehow does.  Probably, as stated, to drum up attention and betting fervor.

I had a good friend who was a Rams fan who had a friend I didn't know, who was on his 9th or 10th year in a row of driving to Laughlin Nevada to put $100 on his Rams to win the Super Bowl. The year he won it they were 250-1 longshots.

Punters have thrown a combined $130,000 on the Penrith Panthers in just over five minutes today to both beat the Gold Coast on Monday and reach the NRL finals this season.

The Panthers, who sit outside the top eight after notching two wins from six matches, take on the league-leading Titans – who are chasing a fifth straight win – at CUA Stadium on Monday.

TAB Sportsbet took a bet of $50,000 at $5 on Penrith making the top eight at the end of the year, and then took a bet of $40,000, two bets of $20,000 and bets of $5000 and $3,500 on the Panthers beating the Titans.

The Panthers and Titans are now equal favourites to win on Monday at $1.90, with Penrith listed at $1.67 with the 2.5 point start and the Gold Coast at $2.15 minus the start.

That was the same year the Stardust took a bet of $25k from a punter on the Rams.  Bloke who wagered said that if Trent Green goes down, Warner will be the League MVP and go all the way.  He said he knew Warner from his early days and what he could do to NFL defenses.  He said his whole wager depended on Green going down injured.  He got his wish.  Wow.  Stardust said that bet broke the shit outta them.

For 51 weeks of the year I couldn't care less for the likes of Braith Anasta, Fitzy and co. (just kidding, but seriously !)

However this week's state of origin snubbing for the aforementioned duo (and you could throw mason into that mix, although surely even he could see that coming ?!) should prove a pretty powerful tonic for those guys tomorrow.

I could be mistaken because I don't have the prices / lines of yesterfar to back me up, but if MEMORY serves correct, backing the dog in these Anzac Day matches wouldn't sent you broke over the past 7 or 8 years

And the Roosters, if I remember correctly, do well against the Dragons as well, although the ANZAC Day matches haven't been kind for the Chooks.

Nevermind, Chooks/Dragons is 5-4 Dragons since 2004.

GL.  I am siding with the Roosters here.  Revenge for blowing the ANZAC Day match last season.

Chooks? Dragons are about 3 levels above the Roosters. they have named their best sqaud, and even if Big Dell doesn't play then Nightingale is mre then a handy replacement.

I really can't see Roosters slugs getting through the Dragons too often. The Dragons may not be the greatest attacking team going around, but look at their defence. Roosters are too one-dimensional to cause them too many headaches

The Dragons may have lost to an in-from team last week, but they have beaten 1 and 2 on the ladder so far this year, including Brisbane in Brisbane

You just never know with the Roosters.

That said, if they ain't up by at least 48 by Halftime, Broncos will win.

Channel 9 should have pissed on Souths/Cronulla match and shown the Eels/Broncos game live,sure the Eels are dopes but no doubt it will be a more entertaining game then the Bunnies and Sharks,the friday night Queensland game is always exciting whether its a Titans,Cowboys or Broncos home game


Usually the Sydney friday night game is a plodder
