he doens't suck, just he cannot be considered one of the best as he does not have a premiership

And his player retention leaves a lot to be desired. Paul Gallen, Andrew Ryan, Willie Tonga, Jason Cayless, David Williams are amongst players he has let go and have gone on to play for Australia or win a Premiership (or both). Not to mention the other players he has let go.

Add to the fact the amount of game time guys like Mateo and Hayne got when he was at the club.

That's the cap mate. Andrew Ryan he may rue, the rest of the guys you named were no great loss.

I also don't buy into the 'he hasn't won a Premiership therefore he can't be a great coach' argument.

Michael Hagan won one in his first season. Great coach?

Steve Folkes won one. Great coach?

    Lead a horse to water...

That was just terrific from the Knights today. I didn't even see the match (heard about 20 mins of so on radio) but with, what nine players missing for various reasons that was a hugely courageous performance imo.

Reminded me a lot of some of the wins Brisbane achieved over the years against all odds with their origin boys out.

Phil Gould is right, there is something a little bit special about this Newcastle side.

I wasn't even on them today, thought the line was fishy - and it was.

I asked at the start of the week why the line was only 2.5..

De Gois was brilliant again today.

Mullen was very good also. The ball he threw to set up the first try was top drawer stuff. Sublime left-to-right passing game that kid has.

I have to admit Brian Smith is a great coach,he has been successful everywhere he has been, got all of his teams to the finals,he gets some flak for not having won a premiership but it was his players who choked on him especially the Eels, the Eels were a 800 length better team then everyone in 2001  and they simply choked on the poor bastard, can't blame Smith for that,he also lost 2 grand finals against the Broncos but not many teams in history would have beaten those Broncos teams in the early 90's,they were brilliant

    thats a long paragraph

I really didn't notice him much at the Sharks, but "the sausage dog" has game. He's a complete pest for opposition defenses with his dummy half running.

around $45, pressure is on fed now to complete the grand slam.

Fed is paying 2.20 at pinny to complete the GS,   hmmmmmm. He did win the madrid master coming into this.

Murray and davy are looking good so far into this slam, cant see anyone else in contention at this level.

Fuck it, i'm shoving 10 units on fed to take it out.

    Fed's playing with confidence.

Gonzalez will go very close to beating the Scot. If Monfils gets past Roddick he will push Federer,

Nadal losing last night may spark a global economic crisis amoungst gamblers

Can't imagine how many were riding him to win a fifth French.

Mind you we may see some obscure lines for a few days as staff at bookmakers across the world turn up drunk from what must be a MASSIVELY MASSIVE result for them.

I wonder where it ranks in terms of big results (on one single event) for books ?
