Aussie's Round 1 NRL Plays

Well Rugby Forum, the time has come where we all sit down and look at the new players is certain teams and we anxiously try and get our Super Coach teams in order so get some "cheapies" into the line-up and hope they do something special for their price tags to jump up. By memory last season, the underdogs in the first 8 rounds covered the line something like 70% (im sure Emkee can confirm this exact percentage) and I expect the same this season as well as a lot of the cellar dwellers from last season will be decent this year. IMHO, the Sharks, Dragons and Tigers are going to be a lot better than last. Titans are in all sorts of issues and I don't think the Storm will be as good as last season. Panthers have a great chance IMO of finishing top 4 as long as they stay fit and the Eagles may struggle because their forward pack is terrible. But with all this being said, as we know anything is possible in sports and especially sports betting. 

The starting line-ups are all out now with some surprises.. 

Will post my plays later this weekend and I hope we all have a successful year capping the NRL Season.

Hey aussie how u been punting, 100% agree on the panthers nearly top 4 last year with all them injuries can see them improving for sure. IMO the biggest movers will be the sharks from wooden spooners may just be sneaking in the 8 for me a lot if talent on paper. Looking forward to a good season ahead kicking off tomorow.

I can not wait for it to get under way tonight. Jumping out of my skin for past couple weeks waiting for it to get under way.

Haha agree Snake.. Its been a long off-season and some significant players have left the league (Hayne, Burgess & SBW). Will be good to see how other players in those teams step up. I think George Burgess will have a big year in his brother's footsteps. Good luck this season Snake

Broncos vs Rabbitohs
This is my first play of the new season. As I said before, the underdogs covered a lot at the start of last season and then the favs took over 2H of the season.

Broncos +2.5

Reason, the King Coach is back in Brisbane. The crowd, the players, the club mostly love this guy. He has been away for years but returns to the club that he built. I think they step up for Round 1 against the defending champs and get the job done. Will take the points to begin with because you just never know but I think Broncos start the season with a win.

my bookie doesnt adjust lines. he adjusts payout guy hahaah

G'day Aussie and others and good luck for the NRL season.

League is not really my game but have had something on 2nd half being higher scoring half @ $1.75 for an interest. Hoping lack of match fitness opens up some 2nd half holes.

Poor effort by the Broncos on Thursday night. Forgot to add that all my plays are 2 units unless stated differently.

Season: 0-1-0 (-2 units)

Nth Queensland Cowboys vs Sydney Roosters

Over 40.5 -  2 units

Last season, the Cowboys went 11-1 S/U at home scoring an average of 30 points and allowing 12 points per game at home. The Roosters on the other hand on the road went 7-5 S/U (2nd best in league) and hit an average of 25 points and allowed 18.5 points per game. Missing Jake Friend in the middle of the field is a huge loss for the Roosters because this guy was a workhorse and tackling machine. I think both teams can get to 20 each and the Cowboys potentially 28. I would take the Cowboys ATS but the Roosters arent a bad road team as I stated above 2nd best in the league last season.  So I think we see something like 28-22 potentially as both teams have great back-lines, good halves and mobile forwards who love to offload..

This Titans/Tigers game is very scrappy affair. Hmmm, might look into the 2H over because surely ball security will be better in the 2H

Under 22.5 2H  Great win Tigers.. Pat Richards to the rescue...

Good to get the first win of the season. Now onto Townsville for the over hopefully in that game..
