    We go again!
    Wasps v Quins

     Wasps are -7.5

Must win game for both sides but fancy Wasps to go all or nothing here and see them winning by double digits. Wasps side has a SA flavour to it for Juan de Jongh making his European debut in a power backline

    Come on you Wasps!

Wasps: 15 Willie Le Roux, 14 Christian Wade, 13 Elliot Daly, 12 Juan de Jongh, 11 Josh Bassett, 10 Jimmy Gopperth, 9 Dan Robson, 8 Nathan Hughes, 7 Thomas Young, 6 James Haskell, 5 Will Rowlands, 4 Joe Launchbury (c), 3 Jake Cooper-Woolley, 2 Ashley Johnson, 1 Matt Mullan
Replacements: 16 Antonio TJ Harris, 17 Simon McIntyre, 18 Marty Moore, 19 James Gaskell, 20 Jack Willis, 21 Guy Thompson, 22 Joe Simpson, 23 Rob Miller

Harlequins: 15 Mike Brown, 14 Marland Yarde, 13 Joe Marchant, 12 Jamie Roberts, 11 Tim Visser, 10 Marcus Smith, 9 Danny Care, 8 Mat Luamanu, 7 Dave Ward, 6 Chris Robshaw, 5 James Horwill (c), 4 Charlie Matthews, 3 Will Collier, 2 Joe Gray, 1 Joe Marler
Replacements: 16 Elia Elia, 17 Mark Lambert, 18 Phil Swainston, 19 George Merrick, 20 Ben Glynn, 21 Dave Lewis, 22 Tim Swiel, 23 Francis Saili

A couple of weeks back someone posted about La Rochelle and I have watched them twice since and really enjoy their attitude and approach - they run the ball from all over and I am going to buy their shirts at what looks likely to be mid 40's - the weather forecast i looked at indicated light showers clearing up a few hours before kick off

    two others thoughts..

    Glasgow -32.5 v Southern Kings
    Connacht +2.5 v Munster
    Ospreys -12.5 v Dragons
    Treviso +2.5 v Edinburgh
    Zebra +3.5 v Cheetahs
    Ulster -1.5 v Leinster
    Scarlets -12 .5v Cardiff

A couple stand out for me, Bet 365 currently have these capped at slightly more favourable levels:

    Ospreys -10
Pushed Sarries all the way on the weekend, finally starting to show some decent attacking intent. Will be too strong for the Dragons who are notorious for struggling away from home. Can see the cap moving out to -15 or so.

    Treviso +4:
not sure they have the correct favourite here. The Italians should've beaten Toulon on the weekend, to me the bookies still not giving them the respect they deserve based on their performances this term.

    one got  very good point..

The only thing I’d be wary of is the autumn internationals coming up...there’s an Irish squad camp this week and weaker teams that don’t provide many players can get some easy points. I think Ulster could be massive beneficiaries of this when they play a Leinster team that will be the bulk provider to the national team. I’ll be all over Treviso once I know Conor o’shea isn’t going to pull the Italian players.

I agree with the Ospreys match. They’ve been threatening to come good for the last few weeks and I suspect they could give the dragons a good beating.

The Munster game is hard to call and I suspected that they’d be more than -2 but Connacht won’t be affected by the international break as much...but confidence seems to be quite low at the minute.

Think Glasgow will thump the kings. I have never seen any SA team play on a 4G surface and the kings look so bad.

    Glasgow -32.5 v Southern Kings
    Connacht +2.5 v Munster
    Ospreys -12.5 v Dragons
    Treviso +2.5 v Edinburgh
    Zebra +3.5 v Cheetahs
    Ulster -1.5 v Leinster
    Scarlets -12 .5v Cardiff

A couple stand out for me, Bet 365 currently have these capped at slightly more favourable levels:

    Ospreys -10
Pushed Sarries all the way on the weekend, finally starting to show some decent attacking intent. Will be too strong for the Dragons who are notorious for struggling away from home. Can see the cap moving out to -15 or so.

    Treviso +4:
not sure they have the correct favourite here. The Italians should've beaten Toulon on the weekend, to me the bookies still not giving them the respect they deserve based on their performances this term.

    one got  very good point..

It is a real shame that Scotland cannot bring more talent into the side, one that miraculously drew with New Zealand in the Four Nations last year. Results since 2013 have been pleasing for Scotland, but they could be in for a tough tournament. Tonga’s forward pack will be too good, and the strength of their outside backs should keep the Scottish defence on their toes. A game that should show the potential that Tonga has to show. Tonga by 16.

I believe it will be a passionate encounter of two strong sides who will give their everything to represent their country and jersey with pride. The Kiwis have the advantage of playing at home and with the higher quality of players on side, but they will have to put their best foot forward to dominate a fiery side like Samoa.

    Kiwis by 25..

kiwi to win 1-12 for me

This will be the first ever meeting between these two nations in a Rugby League match and with both sides having a fairly low key build up to the tournament there might be a few errors to open the game whilst some new combinations start to form. I expect USA to come out fast but the class of the Bati will eventually overwhelm the Hawks, with players like Hayne, Sims, Koroisau and Vanivalu on their side Fiji should win by 20 points.

France by 4. Not based on any tactic evaluation or even gut feeling, just hope. Depends how both teams show up.

A bit harsh on France having a 5 days turn around to play Australia coming off a 7 day turn around. We all know they'll be beaten but the schedule doesn't do  any favours.

I think Lebanon will be sufficiently motivated to bring this one home. While I would love to see France light up the world cup, they just always seem to under perform away from home..

I see a close one here and a real interesting watch . Obviously Moses Farah Lichaa are key and could well be the difference . Big game this for qualifying

france vs lebanon will be very close game.. looking forward to bet  france to win 1-12 or lebanon +7.5  @ 1.50

It’s a tough ask for any team to finish fourth and win two knockout games away from home to win the competition. It’s even harder when you have to travel to Christchurch to take on the defending champions in the final. But that’s what Tasman need to do if they are to lift their inaugural Premiership title. In round one Canterbury completely shut the Makos out in winning 39-0. Tasman will be much more competitive this time but it still might not be enough to defeat a Canterbury team that knows how to win finals.

thats  right canterbury knows how to win

canterbury to win 1-12..best bet tasman + any points @1.50 mark..

rugby league  world cup 2nd week odds.

    walses     +44.5
    ireland     +18.5
    use           +18.5
    lebanon    +32.5
    samoa      +12.5
    scotland    +46.5
    france       +56.5

book makers seem to make odds just beacuse of last week..surely few free money odd out these . can all  these 7 games be plus

    Barbarians squad:

Forwards: Ruan Ackermann, Dominic Bird, Willie Britz, Sam Carter, Simone Favaro, Ben Franks, Dillon Hunt, Steven Luatua, Atu Moli, Kwagga Smith, Ruan Smith, Adriaan Strauss, Akker van der Merwe, Jacques van Rooyen, Luke Whitelock

Backs: Vince Aso, George Bridge, Richard Buckman, Mitchell Drummond, Robert du Preez, Andy Ellis, Richie Mo’unga, Taqele Naiyaravoro, Julian Savea, Nic Stirzaker, Harold Vorster

Barbarians are getting a twenty five and a half point head start at William Hill, would have to consider this as Cantabrians Robbie Deans and Scott Robinson are the coaches and there is the Canterbury halves of Mounga and Drummond, Mounga probably being the form first five in the world at the moment, including Luke Whitelock, Dominic Bird and George Bridge from Canterbury, Julian Savea on the wing, there's five Canterbury players in the squad who will probably start, these guys just won the New Zealand premier rugby competition last weekend, easily, and as I said, the two ex Canterbury coaches, that's a big Canterbury influence, watch out All Blacks lol

+24.5 for the Baa's looks to high especially with the form NZ is in. Agree with Japan +

Yep..gone in on Japan +28.5, I like Japan at home. I feel they are building something and will not be going backwards...agree the Aussies might be a little flat

few early thoughts from good cappers..

I would see USA losing by 100 against Oz.

I hope I'm wrong though and France put on a great show and stay within 30.

Dung-or-bust stuff from the French. Thus Australia will lose by less than six (unlikely), win by less than ten ( vanishingly unlikely), or win by 20+ ( likely)

tough game tonite.. but still france +56.5 looks ok..  just small..
