This team is playing a lot better

they still suck

but they don’t suck nearly as bad

So-

They are legendarily bad, right?

Living in Denver and being a baseball nut, I’ve watched this team way too much.

Im going to tell you something, they are much better today than public perception.

They’ e cut some of the dead weight

Added some much needed veterans

and gotten a little healthier

Are they the Dodgers?

Nope, but I’m going to betting them RL daily ( some days you’re getting 2 runs)

fade them at your own peril

I unfortunately live in Colorado- 

a couple of things about this brutally bad team.

1) They are going to get better- yes I am a homer but also, they have been forced to play just some God Awful kids ( Amador comes right to mind) and now they are getting better in the middle of the field. Tovar is raking and they have Farmer at second today which is a huge offensive upgrade.

2) Stallings is defensive and good- Goodman is awful defensively and good offensively. With Goodman in the game today, steals are plentiful for the Cubs but they gain another decent bat by sitting Stallings. Two offensive factors.

3) Jordan Beck is really starting to hit. Ryan McMahon is hitting some ( from absolutely none earlier) and like I said, Tovar is raking. This is a huge upgrade from earlier.

I know they stink and they really do stink but they are not the worst team ever bad ( I swear to you) They will start to win some games and should get this total over today..

I was at the Rockies baseball game yesterday and I needed a new hat.  I would normally wear a hat to the game, but all of mine were looking a little ragged, so I did not wear one and figured I would get one there.

When I arrived at the park, I found  a nice looking lid and was walking up to purchase it when I glanced at the price tag.

50 bucks. For a hat.

I don’t know. I make a very good living. I’m pretty financially secure. The tickets to the game were freebies but it just rubbed me the wrong way.

I was thirsty later on at the game and didn’t feel like spending $14 on a beer, I drank  some water out of the fountain.

finally, I was out eating lunch the day before at a local restaurant, my salmon salad was $32 ( I live in Denver). 

For me, like old Malcolm Gladwell, think I’ve reached the tipping point.

The worst part, I’ve turned into my Father.

He did the same thing at the same age, just kind of decreased his purchasing.

Man, have we been bad.

It is just not losing but watching them has been dreadful, they are dreadful.

Full Disclosure, I made a very large bet last year on Under 62 wins ( and won)

and the preceding year , I also won on the Under.

This year, I took the Over ( yes, hindsight is 20/20)

They were getting back Marquez and Senzatela ( their two best pitchers)

They were sure to benefit from Goodman, Doyle, Beck Tovar having had a year or two in the bigs.

Senzatela has been bad

Marquez worse.

Tovar is hurt

McMahon started well but is in a funk like Ive never seen.

The other pitching has been all bad ( normal for Coors)

Watching this team daily, -230 seems like a gift. I will take the Braves and the Over.

WTF Vegas?

I used to go to Vegas for March madness through the 90s. Then it started to get too expensive for rooms and too crowded so I switched over to Super Bowl ( Big Game).

Now I may need to switch to some other kind of weekend as I am booked for this weekend, but I can’t find a party for under $250.

Circa  wants $500 just for a fucking chair?

do you people pay this kind of money to sit in a sports book?

 I would do a Coronary Calcium and screen for heart disease not found on a stress test ( which was reasonable, but the Coronary Calcium is a better test)

I would see an Endocrinologist for Hormonal issues and I mean this. 

Bellagio had a great one in the high limit-

Not only single zero but 1/2 your money back if green hit.

That was a year ago and almost too good to be true
