Hi......Still new to Covers and this is my first time in the golf forum. I bet the majors and Ryder cup etc, but don't bet golf on a weekly basis. Occasionally I will live bet a final round but right now with football season in full swing, I haven't been betting golf. That changes this week.
It just looks like there is too much value out there in China. With Rory and DJ being the heavy favorites, great prices are being offered right now pre tourney. So I will buy in on 5 golfers not named Rory or DJ and go after the nice return on small bets.
I'll post my picks after I place my bets. Thanks

I only tore apart 1 unit to sprinkle on these. Hopefully one or two will give me action on back nine on Sunday (well, Sat. night)
That's the other great thing about this tournament for those of us living on the West coast of USA..........tv coverage starts at 8PM every night. Hopefully Rory or DJ don't run away and hide. BOL to all

These 3 balls were a financial push.........Yes, Rat......you were right about my Grillo pick
the main reason I tried to warn you betting against betting against Alex Noren is he can be a "mud runner" in wet weather. his last tourney he shot rounds of [-4], [-6], [-6] & [-2] for [-18] @ British Masters for a two shot win over Bernd Wiesberger in similar weather.
same match 2nd round he is -125 over Grillo

I appreciate it. I am gonna start going thru tonight's 3 balls and I will be taking a good look at Noren as a possible play. Thanks for the information and help. BOL Sir

I JUST ADDED DJ AT 40-1. SITTING AT +2 ITS NOT A GREAT BET. HE WILL NEED TO SHOOT A COUPLE OF 64'S TO CLIMB BACK INTO IT. ON A PAR 72 I WILL TAKE A CHANCE AT THAT PRICE BUT ITS NOT A SMART PLAY......BUT WE ARE ONLY TALKING ABOUT FRACTIONS OF A UNIT PLAYED AT 40-1 SO I CAN LIVE WITH IT.

3-3 on my 3 balls last night was essentially another push financially but it was fun. I was on the wrong side of the Grillo Noren zig-zag and Levy looked good until a costly triple near the end of his round.
Haas and Rory played well. Holmes ran into a hot Kuchar and Woodland sucked out a push.
I will see what is being offered for tonight. 6 plays is too many and will try to bring that number down.
On the futures side of this event, Matsuyama and Bland are my only real chances to cash........but I say that half way thru the tourney.........and Rory will probably have something to say about the outcome so we will see how it plays out.

damn Alex Noren picks the yesterday to shoot the WORST round of golf I have seen him shoot for the last half of the year and Grillo shoots "the bomber". REALLY disappointed in Noren and he cost me BOTH a two match and a four match parlays. these damn "pampered poodles" can be SO inconsistant
AND here come Rory McIlroy!!! shoots a 7 birdie 1 bogie [-6] to get to within 6 shots of the leader Matsuyama @ [-7]. freeking guy came from behind to WIN the TOUR championship and the Fed Ex Cup his last tourney
Richie Bland shot another [-4] to get to [-8]. he could have really shot a big round BUT went bogie-birdie-bogie his back side after 5 birdies on the front
BOTH last years winner Russell Knox and Bill Haas 3 back of Matsuyama @ [-10]. Italian Open winner Francesco Molinari and Daniel "Cheese"Berger tied with Bland @ [-8]

Hi Rink. I think it's likely that Matsu and Rory battle it out in the final round for the trophy. I would love to see Bland go low today and give his backers a shot at the 125-1 future.
We could have gotten Rory at 10-1 after the first round.........but that would have meant conceding the futures. At last look, Rory was -175 for his three ball tonight! I'll stay away from that chalk but it is a telling number. BOL with your plays today

I was REALLY hoping Rory would be better than 11-2 odds BUT I guess the linemakers remember what happened @ the TOUR. IF I remember right they had him 20-1 or 25-1 after the 2nd round

Nice. Thanks Rink. Unfortunately my book isn't offering matches...........just three balls (at least that's what they have been offering me on this tourney so far). Though maybe I'll incorporate some of your picks into tonight's three balls. Thank You. BOL today.

IF you can get a three ball where you can FADE both "Beef" Johnson and Rickie Bland I would do it. BOTH have been final round "chokes" in the past. I almost chanced Ty Hatton -130 [-5/-3] vs "Beef" Johnson +110 [-3/-3] for that reason
"Fat Baztard" Lowry having his best tourney since the US open last summer. Alex Noren hasn't shot his "bomber" round yet. BOTH "Salt" Pieters and Ryan Moore with excellent 3rd rounds

Good info. Thanks Rink. I also noticed Pieters and Lowry last night. Both had great rounds. Pieters was an even money pick last night and Lowry would have paid out +140 and I considered them both last night but didn't play them.
I'll have some 3-balls tonight. There is still some value out there on the winner of trophy for those who think that Matsu comes back or get chased down. I'll post a few 3-balls after some of these CFB games end.

So I am playing (3) parlays tonight............in addition to the Matsuyama future. It's never easy sleeping on a 3 shot lead but I don't need Matsu to shoot a low number tonight. If he takes care of his business on the par 5's, then I am hoping that he never has to go flaghunting. BOL to all
