anybody tried the long distance illegal golf balls? if so what brand and are they worth buying, one brand says you'll hit it 10% farther, so that would be nearly 30 extra yards with a driver, not bad if it's true ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, theres another brand that says there ball will hook and slice up to 75% less than a legal ball, another one of there balls hooks and slices 50% less and still go's long they say,,,, anybody got any feedback?

Not true. I have never bought any but one time I found a condor. Didnt know much about it except my buddy thought it was illegal. I had just hit wedge from 130 so I dropped that ball just to see. I hit the same shot and went about 20 yards over the green. I was afraid to hit it with the driver as it smaller and heavier and didnt wanna crack my driver. But they do go far.

I was speaking more to the "anti-slice" balls as being bullshit. Generally they have shown to just give you less distance, which in turn means less of a slice/hook. The distance balls I would think would not have as tough an exterior, therefore would scuff or cut easily. I have not used those, only the spin reducing balls

thats a good idea QMICH, i am over 50 now, almost time for the dreaded gold tees! ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, i would'nt use the illegal balls for a tournament or league or anything but thought it might be fun using them against my drinking buddys just to see if i could make them jealous or piss them off, i figure if i start driving the ball way past them i can tell them i started working out or some such bullshit!

i guess i'll just go to walmart and get me some Noodles, long and soft for $9.95, the price is right and i'm sure the balls will be good enough for my typical 84 off the white tees!
