The si woo kim ball striking numbers are looking robust. I think this is more of a ball striking course than it gets credit for after the renovations done last year, specifically the new greens which will make it a little harder to hold approaches on the stadium course which will get 2 rounds of play. He loves these pete dye courses as well. If he gets the putter going even a little i think you'll see him in the mix

A big round 2 for Si Woo at the more difficult stadium course. Hopefully he can keep the putter rolling. Scheffler will hit the stadium course tomorrow which hopefully will give him some trouble (lol, highly unlikely) but couldn't have asked for a better 2 rounds from our guy. The majority of the top 10 have yet to play the stadium course so i would expect some leaderboard movement tomorrow
These courses are a joke for these guys, looking forward to next week at Torrey which will at least offer a little bit of resistance

I followed your Noren and Berger picks, then was inspired to take Si Woo based on past and recent results. Got him at 30-1. Most of my others are at 7 or more back so pretty much out of it unless it gets windy tomorrow, or unless Cantlay goes on an absolute heater at -17. But that’s unlikely so I think I’m Si Woo or bust now.
Besides Si Woo, others I went with are:
Noren MC
Berger -12
N Taylor -14
Dylan Wu -13
Cantlay -17
Min Woo Lee -14
Bhatia -1
Denny McCarthy -11
Matt Pavon -14
S H Kim -13
Fitzpatrick -15

Scheffler is too effing good. Can’t ever count him out.
Agree on the easy nature of the course. Looking forward to Riviera in a few weeks, love that course.

@Sidehatch
He’s too good man, that bail out par putt on 18 stung. I would be surprised if he does not at the very least lead this tournament at some point today, but we’re in a good spot with si woo. Should be a fun watch
I will be looking for opportunities to hedge if we can get a better number on scheffler but most likely will just let it ride. GL to us ![]()

I did watch him miss about a 4 footer for birdie, but that’s not super shocking from him. He could very easily have a 2-3 stroke lead over Scottie at least. That 25 footer Scottie edged in on 18 for par really hurt our chances.

Life happened and I didn’t see Si Woo melt down. Was it bad luck, or bad play, or both?
Asking more so I know how to post-mortem this one, that being said I don’t take results from La Quinta very seriously. As you said, courses here are too easy - every year winner is around -30.

I would say a little bit of both. He had an awkward stance in the green side bunker and basically chipped it 10 ft just outside of the bunker. Then proceeded to chunk the next chip essentially right at his feet, thus double bogeying a par 5 from the fairway. It was all downhill from there
Scottie had it going though and likely wouldn’t have been able to keep up regardless. What can ya do, in hindsight probly should’ve laid down a hedge on Scottie at plus money prior to round 4

Forsure brotha, you’re always welcome to stop in here and share your thoughts or chime in. Unfortunately we didn’t get the result we wanted but we’ll find some winners this year, that is if Scottie doesn’t do this every week ![]()

Thanks! I do consider heading with Scottie, just didn't this week for probably dumb reasons lol. Lessons learned.
