i'm with biddaddy on 1st half green bay.  New York is tough, but this is a farve led team at home.  They are better defensively then dallas.

The only thing that I can say about both of these games is that the teams have already played and you can expect more of the same, with two qbs that have never been at this level before the cracks will spring leaks and with both of these dfences that can be a recipe for disaster.

Cmon now fellas I'm not complaining or hating, just chatting.  A little devils advocate never hurt.   

- and if it wasn't for BigD's help this year I probably would not have even played half the games i played, let alone gotten so far in the green. 

BTW Atari Bigbie I'm pretty sure won Defensive player of the month for December and really is becoming a bigtime safety, I can only hope Aaron Ross can become that guy next season.

2-0 Sat. But Colts and Boys hurt me sunday w/ carryover parlays and teaser nicely tweened from Pats/Jags.
 
I argued that that the Boys controlled the outcome of that game;  IF(big if) they were prepared to play-the game was theirs for the taking. They were not. Mental blunders by Romo, dropped passes, and, definite lack of playoff intensity on def side... all point to too nice a coach not havin his team focused and "up". The Cowboys got to the top of the NFC heap, and then assumed that good looks, charisma, and an ugly-ass star somehow entitled them to the superbowl.
 
The numbers inside that game should be considered in handicapping this game (I think thats obvious): Ya'll can check the stats, but the boys dominated in yds, 1st downs, time of poss.- They lost cause they also dominated penalties, turnovers, brain cramps by QB (takin 14 yd sack when he could easily have thrown o.b. 1 possesion; and the next possesion, taking a 10 yd Int. grdng penalty- when he threw the ball o.b. w/ nary a defender w/in 5-6 yards of him, from 10 yds dir.'ly behind ctr.. (That must be some extra spec poontang...stole that boys mind)       
 
I dont think that'llbe the case in Green Bay. Farvre's been married way to long. Seriously, The Pack showed intensity, focus, and desire.... and maybe most importantly, as corny as this sounds, Joy. They enjoy the intensity- and the production of 11 working together. (Thats the x factor that the T-Brady and the Pats possess... that addiction to winning.)
 
Props to the GMen for knockin out the Boys (Im Skins fan, so it($) was almost worth watchin the smug mug look- of Jerry and the rest of the smug's- gettin wiped off their faces.)

Emotion carries the day and the Pack should advance, but don't be too fast to KO the Giants, any given Sunday, etc.  Spread is just asking for Packer money opening under 7, beware the middle of GB SU win but NYG cover.
 
Slight lean toward the over, as media direction is toward the under, with weather, injuries, etc.  Eli needs to prove he can win the money in a shootout if he wants Dad and Peyton's respect.  He has a few more years to win a ring, baby steps.

So if GB were going to Dallas, who would you back? I bet most would back Dallas.
The 2 losses GB has NY has beaten both of those teams, Bears and Dallas. I know everybody loves Favre and NY does not have any DBs, but if you put Farve on his back, you don't need DBs.
One more thing, see how good Brady was this weekend, a few weeks back he had to throw a long TD in the 4th qtr to beat NY on blown coverage.
If this game is a easy win for GB why is the spread just 6.5, 7.0? Let's see 7.5.

Green Bay showed a running game and strong offensive line play that has been absent in some games this year, with Farve playing his game I'm leaning GB. Manning was also impressive and the NY D did it's part so this could be a smash mouth game. If Manning can exploit GB with a sharp passing attack they are vulnerable. The lines will hold each other at bay but I give the edge with that running game from last weekends show to the packers. It comes down to Manning versus Farve and we all know who gets the edge between those two. Don't fret about Elli though his time will come but not this weekend.GB 5 units

The key matchup in this game is going to be the Pack O-line vs. the Giants D-line.  The Pack O line straight up man handeled the Seahawks D line last week....more impressively they shut out Patrick Kerney.  If Strahan and company cant get pressure on Favre it is going to be a LONG day for the banged up secondary of the Giants.  Green Bay is on fire right now both offensively and defensively, I have a feeling that the G men are going to run into a buzzsaw at Lambeau.

anyway back to the game......

spytheweb- I know your Giants is a better team than most would think. I took them against Dallas and if Dallas won I would more than likely still be on Green Bay at the half in the match up. Actually I would feel stronger about that first half play as I took your Giants in the first half cause I know Dallas is a terrible 1st half ats team.

BTW- the last game that these 2 played against each other the starting running back was Deshawn Wynn for Green Bay and IMHO although Grant coughed up the football twice in the Seattle game he is still a better back than Wynn and Grant made up for the 2 early fumbles later in the game.

Pack has been rolling and don't see it stopping now....especially at home.  Has Eli really turned the corner??  Main threat the last two weeks has been Toomer!!!  Don't get me wrong here G-Men belong in this game, they earned it....but

- I feel like the more hype the weather gets the less of a factor it will be.  A professional team should be ready for this (sure, just ask Marcus Pollard)...I'd LOVE to see Eli Manning come out without sleeves Sunday but we know thats ain't happening.
 
- Kareem McKenzie vs. Aaron Kampman is a tough matchup for the Giants and the 'not quite ready' blocking of Kevin Boss and Ahmad Bradshaw should scare Giants fans a little bit...
...that is where they will miss Shockey, he had become a solid blocker
 
- I said it earlier, look for the matchup of Steve Smith vs. T. Williams on the Packers...he's become a go to guy for Eli b/c he can get open on man coverage and is not afraid to take a hit...HE WAS ALSO BORN IN ALASKA!
