Are you going to say that Gay should have just fallen on the ball.

Dude you are so full of it,.

did you see the game or just see the box score... cuz i saw it...

with :50 seconds to go,  4th and goal and the Browns with no timeouts, they attempted a pass into the endzone, instead of running the ball to milk the clock... they could have run off another 35 seconds and left the browns with less than 15 seconds and no timeouts inside their own 4... instead they risk stopping the clock and giving it to them with at least a miracles chance of somehow winning... and if you say, that's not enough time to win... then what is the reasoning for throwing it and killing the clock?

we all know how running out the clock works... so does Bill... he is going out of his way NOT to... that is the point...

the score was on a fumble return, but the effort was on the drive before that... i was watching it in a sportsbook with a bunch of people who had money on the Browns, and they were all hoping for a miracle run into the endzone, but were shocked to see Bellicheck passing... it was like a bettors dream... some people even speculated that he must have money on the game...

and before you start the usual infantile argument that i am pissed because i lost money on the Browns... i didn't... i bet the line up to 17.5 on that game, so i was in the clear either way...

seriously... make a fuck!ng argument... rather than trying to paint a picture... use facts!  who are you trying to convince?

actually, it was a pick that could have screwed them... and the play after the two minute warning where they also threw the ball into the endzone instead of running 4 straight plays... either way, you get the picture... only something bad could happen by throwing at that point in the game, but for some reason Bill wanted that TD badly enough that he was willing to risk it... even the commentators were surprised by the call... and that was the first of a series of similar efforts to score late, as we have seen... the first in a pattern...

like i said, argue that he has a right to do it... argue that he is trying to get in people's heads... but don't deny that the effort is there, and that he is going out of his way to do it... you're only kidding yourself...

Just throw some money on the Colts so I can laugh at you after the game, only thing you need to know if you are ttempting to handicap this game is this:

You thought the Pats had something to prove in previous games, well this is the defining moment of their season and will be until the playoffs start.  The colts have gotten the best of the pats in the last three previous meetings and the last one was the worst, blowing a huge lead at halftime to end their season.  People say they havent played anyone so they really havent proved anything, even though they beat up on the what was then the undefeated Cowboys, at their house no less.  I think that is a little motivation, and if you give this team, what I believe to be the greatest team ever, any motivation they will flourish.  Thats all I have to say, do with it what you will

Dude you are so full of yourself. I watched the game. No way yopu can tell me you remembered the gmae down for down like you just stated. You are clearly looking at a box score and throwing out your idiot attempt at furthing your miserable life by trying to bring down others. Get a life and stop being a hater.

You have not been saying anything positive about anyone in the last few days. Ask your friends what they think about the game. Wait you probably don't have many as most people don't like miserable pricks.

Last week you stated Washinton was an easy cover..... How did that go.... Were you getting a 46 point spread? When you start winning let me know...

who stated Washington was an easy cover?  i didn't... i sure as hell didn't have any money on it... maybe that post was directed elsewhere...

but i do remember that game clear as day... pass to the left side in the corner of the endzone to Kyle Brady broken up by the defender... i looked at the box score to make sure i got the details right, because i was pretty sure you guys were looking at it (since you knew it was Gay who got the fumble return) and figured you would try to poke at any error i might make... like i said, i was watching it at the Hilton sportsbook, and there was a frenzy of people with bets on both sides, so was very entertaining to watch it all unfold... and was impossible not to be shocked by how it played out...

but none of this is about hating, as opposed to what i see from some here... it's the exact opposite... i'm trying to stop this BS of pulling out half a bag of stats that support your side just for the sake of supporting it...

like calling attention to how great all the teams the AFC East teams have lost to in order to show how strong of a division it is... totally disregarding the fact that they haven't beaten anyone...

half lies are still lies... speak the truth, fool!

i still haven't bet on the Colts, and am trying to resist and just enjoy the game... but the more i see the discrepancy between the people betting on the Pats and the ones betting on the Colts, the more i am tempted... Pats backers are the shit talkers who keep trying to twist the stats... and the Colts backers are the handicappers who see the value of the homedog, and aren't deluding themselves in their analysis of the game...

hard to believe the people who are right are the ones who sound like idiots...

of course, there are a couple exceptions on either side, who shall remain nameless... but by and large, that is the division...

colts usually a good home dog play when playing against winning opponents.
in the past new england has not been good road favorites with revenge. (that was in the past) this is now.
pats normally don't do well after scoring >30 against a non-division opponent.
i'm sticking with the manning factor.

I believe that people are analyzing this game too much.  A few things are obvious here and the rest of the stats will be thrown out of the window in this brawl.  Both teams have wise, excellent coaches that know how to win championship football games.  Both teams have high-powered offenses that have many different weapons, not just at quarterback.  Third, both of those quarterbacks are smart (know how to control a game), have great arms (don't throw many picks), and play good in big games.  This is a big game for both games for their records AND their egos.  I believe that this line could have started at -7 instead of -5 but a lot of money would have been on the Colts instead of the Pats starting off, keeping the line around -7 or -6.  With the line starting at -5, going to -5.5, and maybe even up to -6 it encourages bettors to take the Colts, slowly but surely.  Pats will probably win this game by 9 or 10 and I think that Vegas knows that.  A line starting at -7 is an insult to the home-team Colts and gets a lot of money early on the Colts, bringing the line down so everyone ends up jumping on the Pats and everyone is a winner.  The public money is still 91%/9% in favor of the Pats, and if the line moves like it should that % will change.  I think Vegas is trying to make this look like a close game.  On paper, this game should be close, but it won't be.  Colts will be trying to play catch-up all game, especially with that rookie LT trying to block those "machines" going after Peyton.  Also, the Colts ML being +210 is gettting a lot of action (63% public $$) because it is the biggest ML the Colts have seen in the last two years.  63% is still not a big amount with 37% on teh Pats -210 ML.  This game will turn out like all of the other Pats games.  Pats and the Over.  I personally like the Colts, but my $$ comes before teams I like.

First of all, if your name has "Brady", "Pats", "NE", "Indy", "Colts", or if your avatar is Brady, Manning, Indy's logo, Pats logo, or any variation of the above-- your post should be ignored.  Not saying you don't know what you're talking about, but posts like "PATS RULE YAY" are wasting our time.

Second, you can't put look at this game like CMJohnson is by just comparing NE and Indy's rankings in various categories.  These are the two best teams in the league by a mile.  The Pats are 1 in offense and Indy is 3...so what?  Actually the two best stats on that list are NE 8-0 ATS and opponents records (Indy's: 27-24, NE's: 24-34).
Bottom line is this is the only game that can really show us how good both teams are.
My gut feeling- I don't think Indy can keep up with NE's revamped offense.  Pats almost 80% TDs in the red zone is just insane.

it's actually funny to me that you mentioned people working the "running it up" angle into their handicapping...

i actually watched all of those games... and saying what the 4th quarter score was doesn't really mean anything...

the score in the 1 minute of the Browns game was 7-0 Pats...
score in the last 1/2 minute of the Cowboys game was 7-0 Pats...
score in the last 6 min of the Skins game was 14-7 Pats...

you see where i'm going... i'll be honest, i personally don't care that much about the running it up... they can do it if they want to... but what bothers me is this kind of denial... trying to use statistics to convince yourself it isn't happening...

and oh yea, Browns, Dolphins, Bills and Skins game, the Pats were throwing the ball into the endzone late trying to get those scores... didn't actually see if they did that at the end of the Cowboys game, but i do know they ran a play instead of taking a knee to run out the clock...

if you want to say it doesn't matter, or whatever, go ahead... but don't try to fenagle statistics to convince people (or yourself) that it isn't happening... that's just denial, and it's annoying...

the Pats are trying to intimidate, or break records, or whatever they are doing, by running up the scores... it's as simple as that...

Yes, Pats are my team, as I point out repeatedly.  Yes, I have watched every down they have played this year.  And many of the Colts games.  And if you want to nitpick my post, that's fine, but in fairness you should take all that I write in context.  In fact I did point out repeatedly -- like 6 or 7 times! -- the evidence of running it up.

As I said, I wish I had easy access to all the plays run so we could better determine what happened.  I don't, at least not easily...  perhaps you do, as you've accessed the scores with however many seconds left.   I agree the 4th qtr points is an incomplete stat, but show me a stat that tells the entire story of a game.  As you know, many times even the final score can be deceiving.

People ARE incorporating the running-up angle in their capping -- simply read the above posts for evidence.  As I said, it could lead to mistakes.  As in assuming the score in Pats games will always run over, and assuming there is no way the Pats won't cover 6.

I did not deny they ran it up -- I said it was overblown.  And it is, even by people who claim they don't care, like you.  I denied nothing -- just trying to offer a little perspective.

I notice that about 90% of your posts lately are simply bashing other posters, or complaining about how all the posts suck.  As I said earlier -- give us some valid info!  Handicap it yourself, and don't give us more bashing and complaining.  It does no one any good.

The sad thing is that most of you just think New England will score all over the colts. And you're right. But you forget that the Colts will score all over the Pats. Very high scoring affair definitely take the over, as for picking a winner I'm laying off this one.

Call me crazy, but I like the under here.  This game has blown up to be the biggest game in the publics eye, and the medias eye.  It has been elevated to Super Bowl standards.  Sad thing is, I might have to agree that this could be one of the biggest match ups in history.  I am taking all stats, trends, history, and odds out of this because this definitely has a different feel.  Nerves, excitement, and adrenaline will be at an all time high.  That is when offenses make mistakes, and defenses thrive.  Both teams have great offenses, and good defenses.

Please don't rip me apart on this gut feeling!

dsummer4, I get these %'s from www.sportsbook.com.  Once on the site you will see a tab that says "sportsbook".  Click on that and then click on the tab that says "betting trends".  It will give you up-to-the-minute %'s of where the public $ is for the line, ML, and O/U for NFL and NCAFF.  It is the actual %'s, unlike the %'s you see on this website or on wagerline.  Some people on here think I get these %'s from b.s. places and from consensus-type websites (wagerline).  These #'s are always changing and play a big part in line changes and so forth.  Good idea to keep your eye on them.  I usually don't like teams that are liked by 90+% of the public.  But I think that this line started low to create early $$ on N.E., go up, and then get some late $ on the Colts.  I think Vegas wants to get people to believe this game will be within a FG.  Just like the 16 pts that Washington got last weekend and people thought that 16 was too many points (me included, the Pats are for freakin real).  This line makes people think.  It is more than a FG and less than a TD.  The bettors that think the Colts win SU or keep the game within a FG are taking the Colts, and the people that are on the Pats thinking "they will win by a TD" are on the Pats.  I think the Pats win by MORE than a TD, if not two of 'em, and that is why I believe that it didn't start at 8 or so.  That is also why the Colts ML is +210.  Pretty good value for the "2nd best team in the NFL".  +210 is basically saying this game SHOULDN'T be close, or else it would be +150 or so.  That's just me though, others may disagree.  Just check out that website, it might help you out.  Another excellent tool is on www.vegasexperts.com.  Once on the site, click on the words "sports trends" on the left side of the page.  These aren't %'s, but it is info on any game between any two teams you can imagine.  Good luck.

The line is moving up.  It seems the book can't get any money on the Colts.  If this trend continues, it will be a full -7 by kick off.  As long as it's under a T-Dizzle... I like the pats.  Going small though, just to keep it interesting!

Hey all, now I've read tons of things from different people, and I make my living on betting sports as a secondary income, but I wanted to post a few things and get what people thought about the pats here.

Straight up, letting you know I'm betting the farm on Pats, I already have 2k on the game and am trying to scrape together more cash for putting more, if I had 40k I'd put it on pats no hesitation till someone proves to me otherwise. Just so you know, I am betting them, I'm not a fan one way or another, personally I like colts more than pats as far as from a fan perspective, and I love dunge, but I think this is what it all comes down to that no one has made reference to.....

Play calling. Has anyone noticed that Dunge does not run Manning loose? I mean, Colts have played come from behind in several games already this season (even when Adai ran loose against Denver they started behind at home 10-0 before they killed them, I know because I had colts first half and game in that one and was pissed at myself for missing something).

My prediction is, 2 touchdown win margine for Pats but I want to hear why someone feels otherwise. It's clear as day that Pats are doing this season with purpose, probably over the fines at the first game, and if that's the case, why would you stop proving your point in the biggest game of the season? To me, if you're proving a point, this is THE game to prove the point. You would establish your flicking off the NFL big time if the most hyped game between now and the super bowl you shut down and a team to 7 or 14 points like you have almost all other teams.

@Dallas 48-27 win, but remember, they WERE behind at one point in the game, first time all season they were.

WAS at home, 52-7 win. This game makes me laugh because my coworker predicted WAS not only upsetting the spread, but the lowest scoring game for PATS on this because they have, I quote, "never seen the secondary like Washington has, they will shut Brady down and probably only lose by 3". So the record shows, I bet 3k+ on Pats that week and laughed most of the game.

If anyone watches the Pats games, look at how they shut down Romo in the 4th quarter and how they manage to outscore everybody because the coach makes play calls to let them keep scoring. So say Manning is off to a 21-0 lead by halftime, is there any doubt that 1 minute to go Brady will not go for the inzone? Another point, how much MORE defense can you put on Pats then Miami did? Did they suck, yeah, but they DOUBLE-TEAMED Moss EVERY SINGLE TD he had, the highlights on ESPN were many that week and I'm sure you'll see double coverage this week. But how much MORE can a team do then 4 hands in the air dead on a guy? And last point, then I'll shut up, someone posted Colts will ball control... that's not their style, sure they have Adai this week, but Manning's a passer and wins games by outscoring opponents, do you really see a 3-run play ever by Manning? No Marvin means very few out-of-bounds snags by him with 2 toes in.

Can't predict a score, but I stick by 14 point win margine and that's being generous to my liking of the colts, and I still think playcalling means that up by 7, Brady will still be in the game and attempt to score to cushion their lead.... remember the Miami game, quote from Pats coach "We were only up by 14, you can lose a 14 point game, I didn't like that cushion" as to why Brady was put back in the game.
