IF I bet this game it is only because I am a complete degenerate.

OK, now that is settled I will be on the Vikes. The Bears have just looked like $hit this year. Minn at home minus whatever.

Obes, thanks for the note about the Vikings WRs being out.  I missed that, and have yet to make a play here.   But it looks like only Wade is out -- Williamson has been cleared to play.

Also about this earlier post about the Chicago DTs:

"Both DTs for the Bears, Walker and Harris are questionable and may not play, and Vasher wont be playing."

Harris did have limited practice on Friday according to the latest injury report. 

I'm still leaning on the Vikings here.

Bears have only lost one game all year by more than 10 points and that was to Dallas.  Finaly made my bet and I'm taking the Bears +10.5 here.

I agree.  I have lived in minneapolis for the last 6 years and I'm a lifetime vikings fan. i have never seen a spread like this.   I would be taking the Bears tonight if I wasn't going to the game tonight.  Can't bet against the vikings when I'm at the game. 

Anyway...GL everyone and look for the drunk guy where the vikings come out...five rows up.

this guy, scdoggy, he's made me re-think my betting this evening. I was thinking Chicago +10.5, now I'm thinking it could have been Chicago +14-15.
 I don't play online, strictly small-time local.. I'm one of those lurkers who follow threads and gather information I normally wouldn't from a newspaper or ESPN. I may lay off this one this evening and if I do, I think I may feel bad for the Bears if they get blown out. I can't explain this. I want the Bears to win but now believe they will be shellacked and want to put a couple of bills on the Vikings. I can't seem to control my flip-floppettiness.

Got BURNED big time last night as the Giants screwed me over, yet again.  Hate to say it... but I am taking the Bears +10.5.. 10.5 is a bit much for the Vikings to cover.

im with patsgrl...the colts...and the giants..cost me dearly!!!!! and in light of some other occurences yesterday that still have me scratching my head..my logic for tonight is whoever is getting the points im takin em!!

C'mon, you guys don't really think that the Vikings are 10.5 points better than the Bears do you? Kyle Orton is the best quarterback the Bears have on their roster winning percentage wise, anyway. I'm an NBA guy but i can see right through this one. Ask yourself, without looking, when was the last time that the Vikings were favored over the Bears by this kind of margin? Maybe Fran Tarkenton was still playing.

I find it interesting that Chester Taylor has been mentioned only 3 times in this thread.  I feel he will be the dominate force tonight with a few explosive runs.

Bears/orton = 20 (late backdoor junk TD)

Minn  = 27 (quick start, slow finish- minn got shutout in 2nd half last week after busy-lucky 1st half)

 

just a hunch... considering the public is all over minn -10&a hook...

i like to bet WITH the books & parallel / mirror  them

i'll probably get pounded tonight by minnies' Defense...lol  haha

IMHO Peterson & Taylor has the luxury of running behind the blocks of Mckinnie & Hutchinson 2 of the best blockers that you can probably find in the NFL. The Chicago run defense has a hard time stopping the run when they were healthy and IMO they will have a harder time stopping the run when they are not at 100%.
 
Vikings are 44-20 ats when they rush for more than 125yds in a game. I cannot see the Bears stopping Adrian & Taylor the entire night.
 
Bears are 14-47 ats when they rush for 75yds or less a game. I cannot see the Bears running a lot on this tough Vikings run defense. That will leave it up to Orton and the passing game.

This is the last time I will say it until the game......then I might jump on the thread and enjoy some live talk.......it's always fun to see the coments during the game.......but this was a dog week......it will end a dog week on the touchdown or more chaulk games out there.  I said it on almost every thread yesterday......the book doesn't get tagged by the touchdown or more favs to the tune of 8-2 one week and not throw extra points out there to protect that from happening again the next week!!!.........Jets, Philly, Carolina were the 3 games I piled on.........I tried to take the chaulk in the Atlanta game(but doubled my bet on the over) and the Rams game(did the same on the over there too, for insurance).......tonight would make it 4-2 with taking big points this weekend..........Good Luck to all you guys and gals out there.  I'm doing the same thing tonight.....taking the chaulk and doubling on the over......and since it was a very good week, a small little parlay on the Bears and the over!!!

Dencol, there are a few more things wrong w/ his post, see my alert msg above, e.g. Orton is not undefeated at the DOME. In response the  danstyk, i also abide by universal rule of respect and apologize: i didn't mean to come across that way. I do believe the Vikings run game will post 200 plus yds. That said this is Chicago Super Bowl...They would love to screw the rival out of a playoff game..
I still think Vikings will cover the 10 1/2....Plus over  //Dont like 1st Half -7
2 team parlay to start the week

hey guys, just like to say a few things about this game...dont compare this game to all the games this week.  Its not the same scenerios....Hou, SF, Jets, Car, Mia, Phi, Was, Jac, Oak were all the dogs that covered this week.  But the situations those games were in are completely different from tonite's game, from the emotional point.  It wasn't a must win situation for the favors...i think tonite Min will win this game and cover easily and if Chi can get 14 pts, it'll will be over...
