Houston is banged up, tired and out gunned in game 4. The better more experienced team wins and covers....

Goinggone, just the thought of that name probably makes you grit your teeth,huh?

And for what its worth(not much, I know)...Lakeshow 107-93...Rockets are not even close to same team w/o Yao, and the Lakers owe em a little revenge from game 1...beatdown- dont overthink it. GL all

 The Lakers have won 14 of their last 15 playoff series in which they've built a 2-1 lead, and Bryant vowed they'll leave nothing to chance in Game 4.

"We talk about the significance of every game," said Bryant, averaging 30.3 points in the playoffs. "We have a great opportunity. I'm excited about it, excited about coming out and taking care of business. I look forward to games like this."

Artest, not Yao, is Houston's leading scorer in the playoffs, and Aaron Brooks and Scola are both averaging more than 14 points per game. The absence of Yao would also mean more minutes for forward Carl Landry, who's averaging seven points in the playoffs.
 
FYI, Houston does not need Yao.

Finished the season 18-6 last year without him.  Seemed alright against Utah in the playoffs without him that same year.  Yao can't defend ball screens. Doesnt show and when he does gets blown by.  Isn't a good help defender.  Playing a team like LA they have been able to crowd Yao on offense, but have still been quick enough to cover their man.  I don't consider Pau or Bynum dominant big men, I think Scola and Landry are fine, though I would like it better if Deke was still playing.  I've always held the opinion that in a seven game series any good coach can easily game plan for him.

Although this is the playoffs where anything can happen...also the place where u can get killed betting with the public which is all over LA .....THE ONLY BET IN THIS GAME THAT HAS VALUE IS THE OVER.....5 games during the regular season the rockets were forced to play without YAO MING...and in those 5 games the rockets held their own averaging 98pts a game......however they gave up a average of 103 pts also.With ming out the rockets become more of a team that runs in transition rather than a halfcourt team.just go back to ORLANDO GAME 6 WHEN HOWARD WAS SUSPENDED AND U WILL SEE THE SAME SENARIO.OVER IS THE PLAY BUT THE GAME WILL BE CLOSER THAN U THINK........

But dont you agree that the more points, the better the odds? It's just fact. I would rather buy all the points I can get and increase my odds. The 10 on the O/U is always -500. I love the game to go over 185 but not 195....

Only 5 of their last 10 meetings went over the total 195 and 8 of them went over 185.

LA ALREADY GIVES UP 100 PTS ON THE ROAD....LAST GAME LA OUTSCORED HOUSTON 108-94....LA STEPPED THEIR GAME UP WHEN THEY WERE FORCED TO PLAY WITHOUT FISHER.....JUST LIKE HOUSTON WILL DO.BUT IT WILL BE MORE OFFENSIVELY BECUZ THEY GIVE UP MORE POINTS IN THE PAINT WHEN YAO IS OUT WHICH WILL RESULT IN MORE FREE THROWS.THE 5 GAMES YAO MISSED BOTH TEAMS AVERAGED 60 FREE THROW ATTEMPTS AND 75-80 POINTS IN THE PAINT...THE GAME WILL SPEED UP MORE FOR THE ROCKETS WITHOUT THEIR BIG MAN.THIS GAME WILL GO OVER 200 EASY

Lakers at Houston +7.5

Yao is out!

Hou played 4 gms w/o Yao:
       Dallas L 86-96
    @Detroit W 108-105
    @NY L 98-104
    @ NO W 95-84

Problem is in Dallas, Det, & NY gms,  T. McGrady played adding 16,15, and 20 pts
In NO gm Mutumbo played 24 min

Neither of these guys is available, and 6' 9" C Landry will get  more time.

Landry scored 21 pts in 30 min in Houston loss at home vs Lakers 105-100 on 1/13/09
Landry scored 10 pts in 25 min in Houston loss at home vs Lakers 102-96 on 3/11/09

Yao has been containing Gasol so far but w/o Yao Gasol will be able to score at will.

Rockets are undersized in the paint and just don't have the offense to stay with the Lakers.
Now that they don't have an inside post up off they will have to shoot jumpers.

I actually like the Rockets in the 1st quarter of this game.  You can't find a better scenario where a team with their backs against the wall has the scorers and the incentive to come out ready to prove they can win without their most important player.
 
As the game wears on I expect them to wear down and probably lose a close one.
 
But I definitely think they'll come out strong at the beginning of this game.  L.A. knows, with a 2-1 lead, and the depth down the stretch, that can afford to weather an early storm from Houston and come back and get them in the 2nd half.

FYI, Houston does not need Yao.


     Artest, Brooks, Scola, basically all of the aforementioned guys have the stats they have because of the threat of Yao in the middle!!! Without him, It's gonna be a scoring bloodbath today!!! Lakers halftime, Lakers game, and over 196 - because the "Lakeshow" might wind up with like 115-120 today!
     Like I said in the thread for the previous Lakers/Rockets game (of which I took the Rockets, and lost) - "If the Rockets lose tonight, they're DONE!!!" - They lost, and now lost Yao - better luck next year guys. Maybe you'll be able to trade injury prone "McLady" for somebody - and make an even stronger push.....

Forget all the Inside BS and Yao......The Lakers will come out blazin in order to finish off the series as soon as possible to get ready for the Nuggets.
