Zelensky says US aid is an investment in global security.  From security and humanitarian perspectives,  support for Ukraine is money well spend.  0.3% of US GDP reduces  risks of escalation, destabilization of Europe, global chaos and humanitarian crisis involving millions of people by thwarting Russian invasion.  US has crippled one of its main enemies  while spending peanuts.   Now Russian capacity for further expansion is weakened.  International confidence in American power has been restored by supporting an unquestionably just war.  Modest investment spend could have huge payoffs years from now.

Since 2014 Ukraine Nazi's were killing Russians in the war torn eastern Ukraine and were backed by the Ukraine government. 

Russian propaganda promotes myth of de-Nazifying Ukraine as justification for invasion.   Azoz militia is no longer Nazi after integration into Ukraine armed forces.  Zelensky is a Russian speaking person who has lost family members in the Holocaust.  He accuses Russia of acting like Nazi Germany.  Nazis are a politically weak and small minority when compared to other European countries. In 2019 election, coalition of far right parties barely won 2% of the vote.  300 historians have signed a statement rejecting Putin's claims.  Ukraine is far from being a Nazi state.
