Speaker Johnson Allows Pete Hegseth to Dodge Impeachment Vote Until After Midterms

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth escaped an impeachment vote on Thursday after Speaker Mike Johnson prematurely closed the House a day early on Wednesday for the pre-midterm recess.
This has pushed voting on Republican Thomas Massie's proposal to impeach Hegseth until after the midterm election, according to an NBC News report.

Ramaswamy's ad drew swift and vociferous condemnation from a chorus of bipartisan voices, with many prominent conservatives declaring the ad made them more sympathetic towards Acton.
Before the national outrage about the ad, Ramaswamy was already slipping behind Acton in the polling.

Next in succession is house speaker and Jeffries is posed to become next speaker.  Historically, no speaker became president while in office although one speaker was later elected president.  Trump corrupt presidency is overdue for multiple impeachments but senate removal is virtually impossible because of too high vote requirement.
