im no rocket scientist but when someone makes a claim then proves their own claim incorrect in their next post, that doesnt make them the sharpest tool in the shed.

and whats with this steve nonsense? ill even do the unamerican thing and prove my innocence instead of the american thing, which would be you proving my guilt.  you just tell me what you want me to do.  the only caveat being when i prove you wrong (but at least you wont be able to prove yourself wrong this time), i want you to box yourself.

This time huh? You mean like last time you were boxed? This is pretty funny actually. Thanks for the morning humor.

In all reality, there were hundreds of Repblican bills. How many actually made it out of the Republican caucus committees? How many were voted on? When one of the leading Republicans and former doctors even says that the bills aren't offering solutions, that should tell you something.

If your right wingers propose to end immigration issues by building a fence and in response, the Dems propose that everyone walk their dog twice a week, have they offered a solution?

Same applies here.

If you want to see two different bills to address the same problem, read HillaryCare and Contract with America's response (you will even see the cornerstone of the Gingrich proposal rings vaguely familiar.

i feel like im dealing with morons here

i said this time, as in this time you wont be able to prove yourself wrong, 1) bc there is no proof and 2) you just proved yourself wrong in your last post.

you made a post saying there were no republican counter measures to obamacare, then made a post saying there was one.  this is pretty basic logic here, if you say X doesnt exist, then go on to say X happened, your point is invalid.

im going on vacation next week, how bout you man up and actually offer some sort of evidence, or drop the subject entirely?

Ummm, because I didn't log on yesterday?

I've already answered. You didn't. How many of those actual proposals made it through committee? How many were actually voted on? When one of the leading Republicans, who is also a doctor, calls the proposal "no solution" that should tell you something. I made the walking a dog twice per week analogy.

That is what it was.

As for your prior screenname, you aren't breaking any rules (as long as they both aren't in use) so I really don't care. Your prior name was never banned. It is just kind of amusing that someone switches screennames without being banned.

One can mask IPs...just not obvious posting styles...and the right wing extremist hiding behind the facade of a libertarian gives it away everytime.

thought i'd interrupt the windmill fighting to say that the gop will be blamed for the debt ceiling issue.
obama has verbally discussed the outline of a plan yet put forth none.  yet somehow he is credited with a plan by the media.  obama could rip a child from a bassinet, rip its liver out and eat it on live tv and the whole child eating episode would be viewed in a positive light.

on a side note, obamas 36 hour window has come and gone, guess the called his bluff.

Maybe....

but much of the blame goes to your hypocritical party.

All that time spent on birth certificates rather than questions on the conditions set with bailout money. Why won't banks lend now? Obama needs to answer to that.

All that time spent attacking Libya by the same people who defended the handling of Iraq and Afghan.

All that time calling the health care plan 'socialist,' rather than asking for a disection of how and when the prices will decrease as a result and what reformations will be set into the insurance industry once everyone is required to purchase their product.

Ask the right questions...people listen.
Attack using the 'socialism' buzzwords, hypocritical statements, and plain ol' politics....and the American public tunes it out.

"All that time"

Really? How much time?

PS, AUMF's were passed before US troops went to Afghanistan and Iraq.

this is pretty basic logic right here

this was your initial statement

"my only point is that one cannot ompromise with a yes or no vote when those saying no don't offer an alternative."

then you go on to give evidence of a republican alternative when you made post 48. not to mention the 2 other bills that i mentioned.  just because its
the solution YOU want, doesnt mean its not a solution.

and i wasnt aware a bill has to make it out of committee or be actually voted on to count as a republican counter proposal to obamacare.  and if thats what you truly meant, then you should have said that in the first place.  i hope you dont backtrack like this every time you get proven wrong, it just sends of message of snakiness.  and you do realize that nancy pelosi was the person who got to decide which bills get voted on right??? its not like the republicans had any say during the previous congresses.

now getting on to this previous screen name nonsense...

i never said i was a libertarian

what makes you think im a right wing extremist? are you and dl36 the same person, he made that same comment?  can you provide just one thing i said thats even remotely right winged, let alone extremist, let alone multiple statements?

ill even save you the trouble, this thread breaks down all my politics postings

https://www.covers.com/postingforum/post01/showmessage.aspx?spt=87&sub=101089677&page=2

is there anything i can show you that would prove im not this steve person? or is this going to be like this thread where your mind is already made up and you are going to ignore any evidence contrary to your belief.  i feel like i could show you ive been on the space station for the last 5 years and you would still think im steve.

im heading out for vacation for a while, since i know you arent going to address the reasoning behind your belief that my name is steve (youve already ignored it twice), can you just tell me what ive said thats extreme right winged? maybe you and dl36 can talk and make something up together.

how can anyone who was for obamacare answer questions about it when none of them read it and some of the provisions where made in secrecy?  its not like you are going to find the people on k st who wrote the bill testifying in congress.  my goodness, the speaker of the house and the chairmen of the ways and means committee freely ADMIT they were not and will not read the bill.  wouldnt you agree it would be kinda impossible to ask questions about the bill to someone who doesnt know whats in it?

and for the record, im for healthcare reform, we already pay for it one way or another, im not sold on obamacare, seems like there are too many things that could go wrong.

Ummm...Steveshane, because you were on vacation.

The bill is available to read. Have you ever read Pelosi's full quote, by the way. I'm no Pelosi fan, but this quote is as bad as the "read my lips" which was a total mischaracterization of GHWB's comment.

There is plenty wrong with Obama's bill, the most telling is not having an immediate cap on insurance company profit margins (if you mandate the purchase of something, guess what).

There is plenty right too (mandating coverage, eliminating refusal of coverage for prior-existing conditions).

Whether those people read it or not isn't the issue. What is inside it is.

And as for the continued comment on alternatives, I have answered it ad nauseum. They were the equivalent of a bill that offered to walk the dogs twice daily as a response. When the leading Republican and Dr. says the bills were no solution, that tells you something.

its amazing what selective reading you do.

heres the last paragraph of post 60

im heading out for vacation for a while, since i know you arent going to address the reasoning behind your belief that my name is steve (youve already ignored it twice), can you just tell me what ive said thats extreme right winged? maybe you and dl36 can talk and make something up together.

the bolded is what i was referring to in post 62.

i just love how people get so predisposed to a certain, and often false, viewpoint that they become blinded to everything else.  it seems a tad contradictory that a forum moderator does such as well.

djbrow, can you please tell me what ive said that makes you think im right winged extremist?
