Anyone who got suckered into that ethanol hype clearly has no idea what they are talking about.
just what do you mean anyone that got sucked in, as far as i see, most every gas station now boasts that their gas contains %10 erthanol. I pump at Gulf's, i know that THEY didn't buy into the hype. Ethanol makes your gas burn faster, and damages all gas combusting engines, shit it KILLS small engines.
i feel like solar could be harnessed into a more viable option, i have a friend that had it for a couple years, and junked it. As far as i know, the panels are WAY too heavy. Who wants major roof repairs just to save a couple bucks a month on energy bills.
DOn't take me at my word, because i don't know, but i think one of the big barriers with solar today is, exchange/buying/selling. If i put a handful of panels up, which i COULD, all the energy they would 'make' is wasted because i can't sell it back to the grid at their markey price. They need to develop a system where i'm harnessing solar, using what i need, and selling the rest back to the electric company, so i'd bank credits for when i need ot use their electric.

Wind power: In CA where they have a ton of windmills which work nicely but I don't know how much benefit (electricity) they generate. It seems that instead of allowing them to produce all they can the tree-huggers insist they they operate on limited hours to save the lives of those birds that are stupid enough to fly into them. Birds are stupid, every week there are those songbirds that fly into my picture window despite hanging bangles and reflectors to discourage this. In other words, you can't cure stupidity. Probably as many birds fly into the stilled windmills as would if they were in use. Screw the birds, produce the power. Drill for oil anywhere there is any oil. Screw the tree-huggers.
