Rick, Independents would see that, as low blow because attacking a man for what he did, as a child under the guidance of his father, in a different culture is something a racist bully would do. That might make Romney's racist bigoted theocratic crusaders for dominionism base happy but not independents. I guess Obama gets my support by default because Romney is a bigoted cultist crusader megalomaniac for dominionism.

Ron Paul gets my support by default also. He's the least crazy of the crazies on the right and has the best ideas.

Rick, Interesting that you call yourself an independent now. Ancient Rome ate dog meat and so did the Native Americans. In the early 20th century America, dog meat was consumed in sausage and during times of food shortage. The reason I said racist was if you have a problem with Obama eating dog meat as a child, in a different culture, means you’re a multicultural racist bigot. Obama ate dog meat with his stepfather Lolo Soetoro in Indonesia as a child. I think it's gross but Ive eaten animals that others would find taboo.

How about a little sociology 101 to help you out.Every culture has norms and taboos. Norms are what a culture accepts as normal actions, and a taboo is what a culture finds reprehensible, or controversial. In our country eating dogs is a taboo.  The domesticated dog is a part of the family, and it is a norm to dress them up and treat them as such.  Eating a dog, (especially with our culture&#x27;s close ties to them) is a serious taboo.  When locked in an election battle.  It is common for things like this to become issues.  Infidelities, drug use, affiliations with criminals or terrorists, all of these things are taboos.  It is necessary to create a wedge between an opponent and the masses.  Exploitation of taboos can do this. You try to wrap everything in such PC bullshit. It is racially and culturally insensitive to think that eating dogs is taboo?  What about Female Genital Mutilation?  Am I culturally insensitive to think that is fucked up?

rick great points...had obama killed a dog himself and eaten dog meat in america in the american context then he should face it as bad as vick...but since it was as a minor (and in america we view minors differently under law)... and it was not in america or an american context... so the interpretation must be different from a sociological perspective...So context is huge... hindus probably think we are savages for enjoying a burger... but I would say that they need to look at where they are at... This is america not india...But i am sure there are fools that dont understand context from and emic sociological perspective... they will prove themselves daily on this site by what they post

If you break a taboo (it does not matter the age) then you are socially stigmatized. Not saying it is fair, it is how it is.

What&#x27;s funny is that I&#x27;m the only one that posts regularly on the side of multiculturalism.  Another thing that&#x27;s funny is that I believe we should be allowed to eat any animal.
