The New York Times reports:
The Obama administration appears to be on the cusp of the largest round of transfers of Guantánamo Bay detainees in a single month since 2007, a move that could reduce the detainee population there to as low as 90 by mid- to late January, according to officials familiar with internal deliberations.
Defense Secretary Ashton B. Carter has notified Congress in recent days that he has approved 17 proposed transfers of lower-level detainees, said the officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss matters that have not yet been made public. Congress has required Mr. Carter to certify that security standards have been met at least 30 days before any transfers.
President Obama wants to close the Guantánamo prison in Cuba before he leaves office in a little over a year. His administration has stepped up efforts to find countries to take 48 detainees on a transfer list and moved to speed up the work of a parole-like board that might approve the release of others who are currently recommended for indefinite detention.
Obama is determined to close Guantanamo as part of his campaign promises, even if those promises result in send right back onto the battlefield demon possessed Islamic jihadis that will fight against our sons and daughters, just like previous released Islamists have done, including the five Taliban leaders illegally swapped for deserter Bowe Bergdahl.
This will bring the number of detainees down to 90 at Gitmo.
Still the criminal administration of Obama continues to look for nations to take these jihadis.

News reports:
There were reports in November that the administration had to delay releasing its plan to close the U.S. military prison, but administration officials stressed that they were still working on the proposal.
This is complicated by a congressional ban on bringing the detainees to any U.S. prison. The congressional aide, speaking to FoxNews.com, noted that the administration is trying to reduce the number in the camp now, in order to minimize the remaining number officials may try to bring to the U.S. in the end.
In the meantime, the administration is trying to find other nations to at least take the 48 detainees — including the first 17 — cleared for potential transfer.
“The U.S. government is working diligently to find countries who will work effectively with our national security professionals to put in place the appropriate security precautions to allow those individuals to be transferred,” Earnest said Thursday.
Obama’s record on releasing these men is well documented. He is one of them. They are who he is. He is standing with them as he said he would and America, you have no excuse for not impeaching the domestic enemy in the White House. Every single representative in Congress should be held accountable for not impeaching Obama due to his treasonous acts against the people of the united States. It is their constitutional duty, no matter the political fallout. The question is, is there anybody willing to play the man and do their duty and leave the results to God?
Tells you who's side Obama is on,surely not ours?
