It behooves me to post a reply, to the convoluted reasoning used in this quoted diatribe.
CD you are without a doubt, the biggest proponent on this site of the "trickle down effect".
I have read your posts as it relates to higher wages, better benefits, and greater safety measures, in the workforce. You've made the bold statement many times (with different terminalogy & emoticons), that all of these gains have "trickled down" from the contracts that Unions have bargained for.
It's simply amazing that you champion the trickle down effect of workers rights, yet completely dismiss the trickle down effect as it relates to economic growth.
Listen up you wouldnt know a damn thing about workers rights and working in a safe workplace, because you sit on your ass all day figuring out ways to get companies out of paying taxes.
Also as far as trickle down econmics it doesnt work to provide jobs. Whenever the rich bastards guys like you protect, they never turn around and invest in creating more jobs or buying newer equiptment, nope they but more mansions around the world.
Even Warren Buffett who am sure knows more then you said it best, trickle down economics dont work and everytime the govt gave him a tax break, it basically just went under his mattress.
So please dont waste any more of your time, trying to school me on this topic, you got your opinion and i and millions and millions of others have a differnt opinion then you

Warren Buffet most certainly does not stick his tax savings or any of his profits under a mattress. One does not become a billionaire that way. He, along with many others, made his huge fortune by investing in companies not hoarding it. Nobody that wealthy is that stupid. Just two weeks ago he spent 10 billion to buy Ohio based company Lubrizol. In 2009 he spent 26 billion for Burlington Northern Santa Fe. Currently these are just two of about 80 subsidiaries that Buffet has spent 372 billion on. Now the profits off that current 372 billion will be sent right back out to buy more and more companies, just as he has done his whole life. He does not put this money down some hole in his backyard, you cant really believe that.
The question will always be is it better for people like Buffet to spend profit and tax savings money......... or send profits (taxes) to the federal govt and let them spend it. When I look at the books between the two, I gotta go with Warren's way of doing things. I dont think you agree, but hey it makes for a good thread like the one you started here.

Geez it was a figure of speech, buy yourself a humor. He basically said in an interview that when the govt gives him a tax cut he doesnt invest that money in hiring more workers and things like that. he keeps it for himself to spend like the rest of the rich guuys do with. Sure he probably buys more companies to make himself more money.
he just said the trickle down concept is a false concept. I tend to agree with his thoughts because i have never seen the trickle down bullshit work.

Well if he said that it just baffles me. Do you think he stands up at the annual shareholder meeting and says............I am going to be investing in and buying more companies this year, BUT you shareholders, dont expect the share price to increase because none of it is going to trickle down to you. You and I both know he would never say that about investing with him
So many of his shareholders are avg. Americans as well as many of his employees. Have you ever seen a picture of the crowd at the annual shareholders meeting, these people are not multi millionaires. Many of those people were smart enough to buy and keep buying his stock over the last 20 years. They did that because Buffet was buying, not only for himself but for shareholders also. Heres the point, what was 5000$ per share is now 128,000$ per share Now to me that is some serious trickle down money for employees and the avg shareholders, and it was strictly do to his buying of companies.
For what its worth you have gotten me to rethink my position on US companies moving profits offshore, pretty shady stuff from some of the things I have read.

If you google "AG Holder's D.O.J. say's lower test requirements so "my people" can qualify" you will see where I posted this at another website ( where I have been a member in good standing since July 2008 )
Now that you are trapped with this fact, you may say "I didn't mean you 5_for-Fighting" in which case I will get my apology soon for you calling me Mets in the past
Still waiting for my apology
