And Trump is promising to deliver it to them. This is not problem solving--this is simply raising the hands of the victors, and kicking out the "losers." This is not what peace and justice looks like, but it is exactly what human rights activists have feared and had fought to prevent for generations.

Of course it was started under Biden. They are reviewing the current items for fiscal 2025.
"The Tesla contract started in the Biden administration "to explore interest from private companies to produce armored electric vehicles," a State Department spokesperson said on Thursday.
Tesla was the only company to express interest in the department's request at the time.
Typically the next step would be "an official solicitation" for vehicle manufacturers to compete for the contract. But now, the solicitation is on hold, according to the State Department spokesperson."

After D-Day during WWII the allies killed more French citizens than Germans in France. French city after city were reduced to rubble where Germans hid. The Nazi's paraded allied captured prisoners through Paris where French citizens stoned, punched, and slapped their liberators. Such is war.
