It is a shame that the GOP has become irrelevant.The days of the grand old party with the likes of Dirksen, Goldwater, Buckley, Buchanon ,etc has gone by the wayside. Now all we have are a bunch of negativists who have no ideas,no programs (except tax cuts for billionaires and guns for nothing) whose sole purpose is to condemn everything the present administration attempts to do. The present day GOP is representative of the denizens of this forum, who sadly think that anyone, other than their compatriots, believe there is any merit in their ramblings. Unfortunately,and I say that sincerely, as long as the formerly lucid party of the people are dominated by the likes of some of the fools in here, they will never again become a force in national politics and governance. And that is bad, tho, I am a liberal and proud of it, I dont want a 1 party system since the Dems are capable as anyone of abuse. Maybe there is a reasonable Neo-con, conservative, libertarian or whatever they want to tag themselves these days can come up with an actual platform that makes some sense and that is solely not focused on crucifying Obama for his reign of 130 days . Then and only then will they be worthy of an audience.
