Palin is unelectable....She was chosen to try to steal some Hillary votes, and the HARD right wing would still vote for her.

2012 will be :
35% + liberals voting for the Democrat
35% + conservatives voting for the Republican
the other 30% of independents - moderates-centrists will decide the winner

&#xD;&#xA;i used to think that too, that the republicans were just smarter and better able to manipulate the system, until they gave palin the light of day.  something definitely got fubar&#x27;d to allow that to happen.  we&#x27;ll see if they truly are smart enough to get things together by 2012.  it doesn&#x27;t take much intelligence to make a lot of progress by 2012, but it takes some, more than what they showed in 2008.

Palin was McCain&#x27;s "hail mary" as he was stagnant in the polls.  He needed a game changer and she breathed a little life into his run until she was exposed.   He seemed desparate and picked someone who had an explosive upside which is what pulled him even for a short time.  She then performed poorly, with a little assist from a very biased media.  I doubt it mattered who McCain went with.  Noone was stopping the dems from taking the white house. &#xD;&#xA;And BigKat is officially the most annoying person to me in covers history. In my opinion, McCain was a "give-up" pick by the Republicans who knew they would not win. He picked Palin because he was desperate to not go down as a complete uninteresting failure as a candidate. I give him credit for picking her, this gave the Pubs. something of interest, negative and positive. When he came out for the bailout his goose was cooked with conservatives. No more conservatives that have moved toward the left like McCain did. I don't know who the Republicans will pick, it should be a fun election. Republican nominee versus Hillary (I think that President Obama will be so negatively regarded that the Democrats will dump him for Hill). Like I said, it should be fun. All the Hillary haters will come out, the AA voters will be indignant and mostly stay home. FUN!!!
