Authorities treated 20 people for heat exhaustion as they struggled to keep the line moving and get people moved inside.

The incredible turnout at the job fair comes on the heels of the state labor commissioner's announcement that Georgia's jobless rate rose.

The state unemployment rate increased to 10.1 percent in July from the 9.9 percent in June. The unemployment rate for African-Americans stands at 15.9 percent, far above the national rate of 9.1 percent.

This is an apt description of how you treat all the numbers you spew out and wield like a club. Yes, it would stand to reason that a 40-year downward trend would be at a low point in Obama's term. But that doesn't make it Obama's Economy, except for a guy who relishes having a personal scapegoat.

The article you based this thread on, "The Slow Disappearance of the Working Man" from Business week, documents the social and cultural change in America over the last generation. The Working Man has been displaced by the Working Woman. Manufacturing jobs have given way to data jobs much like blacksmiths gave way to mechanics in earlier time.

Your little excerpt, which was plucked to paint Obama in as bad a light as possible to support your preconceived agenda missed an important assertion. Unlike what you do here in the forum, the author placed the numbers in context and stated that Obama "is up against a powerful force, long in the making."

We'll see what he does. Reasonable people know Obama is no miracle worker. Reasonable people also know chronic Obama bashers like yourself are an equal part of the problem because you offer only negativity and blind partisanship---served up in a most disagreeable cocktail of mean spiritness.

The AP has moved some cross-tabs on President Obama from its latest poll, and they signal some low points with his 2008 coalition as the GOP moves closer to picking a general election candidate.

He's lost ground according to the AP-GfK data, with white voters, women, liberals and younger voters, in surveys taken just after the debt-ceiling debate.

* Just 36 percent of white voters approve of the job he's doing, while 59 percent say he should lose in November 2012. That's down from 56 percent after his first three months in office, ,and he is upside-down with this group in every region except the Northeast.
