when GOP rightwing extremists put forth the motion to vacate.

     The fight over the speakership marks a major escalation
in tensions for a House GOP conference that has been
mired in infighting — and it comes just days after McCarthy
successfully engineered a last-minute bipartisan effort
to avert a government shutdown.

There is no clear alternative who would have the support
needed to win the gavel.

    GOP Deja Vu all over again?

When has this happened before:
The last time a high-profile showdown played out on Capitol Hill
over a motion to vacate was in 2015 when then-GOP Rep.
Mark Meadows of North Carolina filed a resolution to declare the
office of speaker vacant while John Boehner, an Ohio Republican,
was serving as speaker.
It was not brought to a floor vote, however.

Not long after the resolution was filed, Boehner downplayed its
significance, calling it “no big deal.” But a few months later,
he announced that he had decided to resign.

Laphonza Butler makes history
   as first Black openly lesbian U.S. senator

Over-shadowed by the historic ouster of the republican House Speaker,
Laphonza Butler was sworn into the Senate Tuesday afternoon,
making history as the first openly lesbian Black senator to serve in
Congress, and the first openly LGBTQ senator to represent California.
She will also be the third Black woman to ever serve in the Senate.

Butler was appointed by California Governor Gavin Newsom
to fill late California senator Dianne Feinstein’s seat for the
remainder of the term through 2024. Feinstein died Thursday
at the age of 90, after a historic career as the longest-serving
woman in the Senate.

Sooner rather than later everyone will realize the truth and distance themselves from the archaic ways of thinking that have dirtied our past . I look forward to the day that all mankind will treat each other as brothers and sisters regardless of their race or creed or sexual preference . Or I just hope that everyone on this planet bangs each other till we all turn coffee with the cream color so no one will have a fucking thing to say anymore about their stupid racial opinions . Mike Johnson picked as new GOP speaker nominee just hours after Tom Emmer drops bid

The House GOP picked Rep. Mike Johnson as their
latest speaker nominee Tuesday evening, though
the Louisiana Republican so far lacks the 217 votes
needed to win the gavel – the latest sign that
Republicans are still no closer to electing a new speaker
three weeks after Kevin McCarthy’s historic ouster.

The vote for Johnson came at the end of a tumultuous day
that began when Republicans voted to elect Minnesota
Rep. Tom Emmer as speaker nominee only for Emmer
drop out just hours later amid stiff resistance from the
right flank of the conference and a major rebuke from
former President Donald Trump.

According to the Guardian, Johnson the new speaker is a threat to democracy because he helped Trump in attempt to overturn 2020 election.  Would he do his duty to certify fair election results if Biden wins in 2024 election?

Overturning of Roe versus Wade lead to more abortions overall in the US according to Society of family planning.  While abortions increased in some states, they decreased in others.  This shows that abortion bans don't stop abortions.  Women still need vital healthcare.  Instead bans cause more women to get abortions later in pregnancy which may be more risky or costly.  Another reason why supreme court decision was wrong.

Our economy grew at a blistering rate despite high interest rates!

The US economy expanded at a remarkably strong pace
in the third quarter, despite interest rates at their
highest level in 22 years.

GDP grew at an annualized 4.9% rate in the 3rd quarter,
the Commerce Department reported Thursday.

   That’s well above the second quarter’s 2.1% pace
and faster than economists’ expectations of only 4.3%.

The stock market loves this news so much that the S&P is down 1.2%. Must be a victory for the economy, right? 

US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen cheered Thursday’s
report as an example of the American economy’s resilience.

“It’s a good, strong number and it shows an economy
that’s doing very well,” Yellen said during a discussion
hosted by Bloomberg TV in Washington.

Biden is the best ever

The judge overseeing Donald Trump’s federal election subversion criminal case has reinstated the gag order she issued on the former president earlier this month.

US District Judge Tanya Chutkan also denied Trump’s request to issue a long-term stay of the order – which bars the former president from publicly targeting court personnel, potential witnesses or the special counsel’s team – while his appeal of it played out.

Ex-North Dakota GOP Lawmaker
Accused Of Flying To Prague To Rape Minor

ASSOCIATED PRESS -
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A former longtime North Dakota
republican lawmaker is charged with traveling to Prague
with the intent to rape a minor, according to a federal
indictment unsealed Monday.

Ex-Republican state Sen. Ray Holmberg was arrested
Monday in Grand Forks, according to an arrest warrant.

It accuses the 79-year-old Holmberg of traveling to the
Czech Republic with intent to rape a person
under the age of 18.
Other charge dates from about November 2012 to March 2013.

     Holmberg served more than 45 years in the
North Dakota Senate until his resignation last year,
after local media outlet revealed he exchanged dozens
of text messages with a person who was jailed
on charges related to child sexual abuse images.

Pinkney allegedly called the US postal worker derogatory names and told her to "go back to [her] country."

He then walked up to the woman, ripped off her hjibab, and started to slap and punch her in the face, police said.

The woman sustained injuries to her face.

Pinkney was arrested and now investigated for a hate crime as well as assault.

CRIME FAMILY INDICTED!

Ten alleged Gambino crime family members and
associates have been charged with racketeering
conspiracy, extortion, witness retaliation and
union-related crimes in a bid for control of
New York’s carting and demolition industries,
federal prosecutors said Wednesday.

The 10 defendants were named in a 16-count indictment.
All but one were arraigned before a US magistrate in
Brooklyn federal court Wednesday.

It is unclear at this time whether members of the trump crime family were also involved

A man in Broward County, Fla. has been arrested for allegedly threatening a Muslim U.S. Postal worker, pulling off her hijab and assaulting her. Kenneth Jerome Pinkney has been charged with a felony hate crime and battery. Muslim group CAIR-Florida released a statement saying it supports those who stand against white supremacy and bigotry.
