and failure to so far grant President-elect Joe Biden access to federal funding and
resources to power up his administration mean America is in for a rocky 71 days.
Trump may be a lame duck, but he retains the authorities of the presidency
until noon on January 20.

He fired Defense Secretary Mark Esper, apparently because he showed insufficient
loyalty to the President's political goals. Esper is worried Trump will next fire
CIA Director Gina Haspel and FBI Director Christopher Wray. The pair is said
to be at risk for putting US national security ahead of the President's desire
to use the intelligence services to pursue his "deep state" conspiracy theories.

Four senior civilian officials have been fired or have resigned since Monday,
including Esper, his chief of staff and the top officials overseeing policy
and intelligence.

               They were replaced by Trump loyalists, including a
controversial figure who promoted fringe conspiracy theories
and called former President Barack Obama a terrorist.

find no fraud in Arizona

Audits in Arizona’s four largest counties, which comprised 86% of all votes for president
in the state, turned up no evidence of the systematic voter fraud that President Trump
has complained about. There were no irregularities found in Maricopa County, which
is home to Phoenix. Officials in Pima County, home to Tucson, audited a random sample
of 4,239 votes in the presidential race and only found a two-vote discrepancy.

if Biden doesn't start getting intel briefings

Sen. James Lankford, an Oklahoma Republican, said he will intervene on Friday
if the Trump administration doesn’t start allowing Biden to receive what's
known as the president's daily brief, a summary of the most urgent and
credible national security threats.

Incoming presidents typically have access to those assessments during the
transition, so they can be prepared to deal with any national security threats
on day one.

"This needs to occur so that regardless of the outcome of the election,
whichever way that it goes, people can be ready for that actual task,"
Lankford told Tulsa radio station KRMG-AM on Wednesday.

“If that’s not occurring by Friday, I will step in,” said Lankford

his thoughts on the presidential election clear: former Vice President Joe Biden won.

“We need to consider the former vice president as the president-elect,"
DeWine told CNN Thursday morning. "Joe Biden is the president-elect."

Election officials, including trump's government,
contradict Trump's voter-fraud conspiracy theories

A group of national, state and private election officials said in a joint statement
Thursday that there is no evidence of any voting system being compromised in the 2020
election despite President Donald Trump's deluge of election fraud conspiracies.

"The November 3rd election was the most secure in American history.
Right now, across the country, election officials are reviewing and
double checking the entire election process prior to finalizing the result,"
the Election Infrastructure Government Coordinating Council and the
Election Infrastructure Sector Coordinating Executive Committees said.

The group, which includes federal employees working in the Trump administration,
added in boldfaced type: "There is no evidence that any voting system
deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised."

condemning trump adviser, Scott Atlas

Stanford faculty passed a resolution Thursday night condemning Dr. Scott Atlas,
President Donald Trump’s top medical adviser on the coronavirus pandemic.

The resolution, introduced by members of the Faculty Senate Steering Committee
and approved by 85% of the senate membership, specified six actions that Atlas
has taken that “promote a view of Covid-19 that contradicts medical science.”

"Atlas’s disdain for established medical knowledge violates medical ethics.
His pronouncements are damaging Stanford’s reputation and academic standing."

Atlas posted on Twitter on Sunday that Michigan residents should "rise up"
after the governor issued new restrictions to protect the public.
He earlier tweeted false information about the wearing of masks.
