Pacific Gas and Electric has agreed to pay a $55 million settlement over two massive wildfires in California that were sparked by the company's faulty utility equipment. The 2019 Kincade Fire burned more than 77,000 acres in Sonoma County and destroyed nearly 400 homes. The 2021 Dixie Fire charred close to a million acres, making it California's second-largest wildfire in history. That fire burned for more than three months, claimed one life and destroyed more than 1,300 homes. Criminal charges over the Kincade Fire will be dismissed

**NOTE: many idiots on TV, websites and social media insisted that one guy had run around the entire state and set all those fires himself.  They say that because they don't want to acknowledge the effect human made fossil fuel burning is having on climate change and resulting forest fires.

Turns out they were wrong of course.  PG & E (remember Erin Brokovich?) was responsible for two MASSIVE fires in California, not some arsonist.

New York Lt. Gov. Brian Benjamin Resigns
After Arrest In Federal Corruption Probe

    ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) —

New York Lt. Gov. Brian Benjamin resigned Tuesday in the wake of his arrest in a federal corruption investigation, creating a political crisis for Gov. Kathy Hochul seven months after she selected Benjamin as a partner to make a fresh start in an office already rocked by scandal.

Benjamin, a Democrat, resigned Tuesday evening.

He was accused in an indictment of participating in a scheme to obtain campaign contributions from a real estate developer in exchange for Benjamin’s agreement to use his influence as a state senator to get a $50,000 grant of state funds for a nonprofit organization the developer controlled.

For the RWNJ's who falsely claim that the MSM have a "liberal bias," stories about these two crooked Democrats were all over the MSM.  So were stories about WJC and Monica Lewinsky, HRC and Benghazi and servers, Rod Blagojevich, Anthony Weiner and others.

    release their 2021 tax returns

    CNN -
"The President has shared a total of 24 years of tax returns with the American public, once again demonstrating his commitment to being transparent with the American people about the finances of the commander in chief," Biden White House officials wrote alongside the release, adding that Harris has now published 18 years of her tax returns.

By releasing their returns once again,
the Biden administration has restored a practice of transparency
dating back to President Richard Nixon, that was interrupted
while the twice-impeached FRAUD was in office.
Trump declined to release his tax returns, repeatedly lying,
    claiming he was under audit.

Releasing tax returns in a timely manner each year by the President and VP should be made law.

The Diocese of Camden, N.J., agreed to pay $87.5 million in one of the largest sex abuse settlements involving the Catholic Church in the U.S.

This is disturbing & only one of the over 3,000 dioceses in the US.

i served mass as a kid & never saw or heard of any abuse in our church. We did have one priest who enjoyed his wine & would make a movement with his thumb for us to pour more wine into his chalice from the cruet we were holding. We would pour it slowly just to screw with him & eventually he just took the cruet from us & poured  the wine himself. We always knew to use the "larger" cruets when he was saying mass.

The fact these men abused kids was once the biggest secret in the Catholic Church.

    Absolutely terrible!

J.D. Vance, Thrilled With Trump Endorsement, Reportedly Called Trump 'America's Hitler' In 2016

“I go back and forth to thinking Trump is a cynical asshole like Nixon ... or that he’s America’s Hitler," the GOP Senate candidate reportedly wrote.

    HUFFPOST -
Ohio Republican Senate candidate J.D. Vance is happily touting his new endorsement from former President Donald Trump — even though he once wondered whether Trump is “America’s Hitler,” according to a Georgia state lawmaker who attended law school with Vance.

Vance is featuring the endorsement in a new statewide campaign ad — even though he once railed against Trump as “noxious” and an “idiot.”

As a country, our governmental agencies don't always communicate together well. Tonight was another example.

Sounds like the FAA failed to notify the Capital Police of the planned aircraft intending to have someone parachute from it & into the Washington Nationals' ballpark tonight causing the evacuation of the Capitol building.

    Not good!

That  J.D. Vance dude is quite a flip-flopper.   Plays a different tune when he wants power.   I wonder if he's trying to "spin" his previous comments now that they have come to light

DeSantis is just another phony looking out for himself instead of his constituents.

    FLORIDA NEEDS TO BE DESANTISIZED!

So DeSantis and Florida republicans are punishing a private company for exercising their RIGHT to free speech.

And yet that would be a fairly significant economic impact that is likely to backfire.

And the legality of this move is questionable.
