Michigan's hot spot for new cases has been the conservative counties north
of Detroit, an area known as the Thumb, a bastion of Trump voters that

Vaccinations ramp up nationwide
with vigorous effort from Biden admin

After already surpassing his goal to administer 100 million vaccines in his first 100 days,
President Biden last week announced a new goal of 200 million vaccines by Day 100.

Biden directed his COVID-19 response team Monday to ensure 90% of the U.S. population
is within at least five miles of a vaccination site by April 19. That includes increasing the
number of pharmacies offering one of the three COVID-19 vaccines from 17,000 to 40,000.

He said his administration plans to add 12 new federally operated mass vaccination sites
and boost transportation services to help low-income seniors and people with disabilities.
Two such facilities are set to open this week in St. Louis and Gary, Indiana.

Facebook took down a video interview with Donald Trump conducted by his
daughter-in-law Lara Trump for her show "The Right View."

Facebook spokesman Andy Stone said the video was not permitted on Facebook
and Instagram because of the former president’s indefinite suspension
after inciting the deadly Capitol riot.

Lara Trump, who is married to Eric Trump, received an email from Facebook
that content with the voice of former President Trump “is not currently allowed
on our platforms (including new posts with President Trump speaking)."

Facebook warned that any future posts would also be removed
"resulting in additional limitations on accounts that posted it."

Matt Gaetz of Florida and Tom Reed of New York.

Reed is accused of inappropriately touching a woman at a bar four years ago,
and Gaetz faces a laundry list of allegations in connection with a DoJ investigation.

That investigation centers around whether Gaetz had a sexual relationship with
an underage 17-year-old and paid for her to travel with him, according to the
Times, which also reported investigators are looking into whether Gaetz violated
sex trafficking laws. Gaetz has not yet been charged with a crime.

The Florida congressman also has been accused of showing pictures and videos
of nude women he had relations with to other lawmakers while on the House floor.

Washington (CNN) House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Tuesday formally invited
President Joe Biden to address lawmakers in a joint session of Congress.

Pelosi wrote in a letter to Biden that she was inviting him to speak to Congress
on April 28 "to share your vision for addressing the challenges and opportunities
of this historic moment."
