Looking at data from Worldometers, from Sept 1 to Feb 1 of this year the 5 largest mask mandated states, Oregon, Washington, California, Illinois, and New York had a combined higher amount of covid cases per 100,000 than the rest of the nation did during those 5 months. (those 5 states were under mask mandates along with vaccine passport mandates during the entire 5 months)
Oregon did the best followed by Washington. Neighboring state Idaho had some local mandates but not a state mandate and ended up between Oregon and Washington in cases per 100,000 suggesting that region of the country faired better overall.
So if masks so effective, why doesn't the data prove it???

More evidences from two studies clearly show universal mask wearing significantly reduces virus spread according to Education week. In Center for disease control report, Arkansas schools with mask mandates have 23% lower virus spread than schools without mandates from August to October 2021. Pediatrics journal reveal results of Duke university research on mask policies and infection rates in over 3000 schools of 9 states from July to December 2021. Schools with mask mandates saw 72% fewer infections than schools with no mask requirements.

They why in the hell doesn't that 72% reflect in those 5 states Iisted? VAGUE STUDY. WHEN AND WHERE!!
My numbers cover 82 million mask mandated people vs 250 million mostly non- mask mandated people over a period of 153 days!!!!!
What schools, when and where? Was it Florida nonmask schools during Florida's August peak vs California masked schools? Oh look California cases took off December 24th, damn we just ended the study. That is how they go.
HOW ABOUT WHAT THE WALLSTREET JOURNAL SAID ABOUT DUKE STUDY;

Amazing, just finished analyzing that Minnesota data some more!
Remember all those " your 20 times more likely if unvaccinated, 11 times more likely", etc???
Well there WAS some truth to that....way back.
In May in Minnesota you were 20.3 times more likely to get COVID if you were unvaccinated. 41.7 more likely to die if unvaccinated!, 13.2 times more likely to be hospitalized!!! WOW!
Then in June Delta came along. Suddenly it was 6.5 times more likely to catch covid, 3.8 times more likely to die. WOW, from 41.7 to 3.8!!!! 5.4 times likely to be hospitalized if unvaxed.
These numbers steadily dropped to January, 2022, only 1.2 times likely to get covid if unvaxed, 1.3 times chances of dieing and 1.3 for hospitalizations.
The sad thing is our CDC and Whitehouse had to have known Delta was changing everything starting in June, yet what did they do in late July? They said " pandemic of the unvaccinated", they showed data from pre-Delta to backup their claim. JOE said on July 21st, just two days after the UK announced 40% in their hospitals were the vaccinated, "Get the vaccine and you won't get covid, you won't go to the hospital, you will not die from covid."
THEY KNEW!!

Now the Duke study I referenced in the WSJ is not the same study as the 3000 school study but the WSJ calls out Duke for "slight of hand" manipulations!!
And Minnesota's covid cases and deaths dropped off in June and July then came back up in August and stayed above the 1000 cases 7- day avg til late February. That sudden drop from 41.7 times more likely to die from covid to 3.8 had maybe a little help from deaths falling just over a 100 in May to 20 in June. Never the less that rate kept falling every month, even when covid ramped back up in Minnesota.

@UNIMAN Let me see if I understand your position.... You believe the vaccine works but you're against mandates, right? And you have been reporting on #'s but you believe they have been misreported from the get go or do you?
I have always stated the numbers on world- o- meter, our world in data, and minnesota's comprehensive week by week data are what we got. I trust the Minnesota data because it has where and when, how much, and for who, not vague attempts to cloud by saying since Jan 2021, etc, because Jan 2021 a hot month for covid with very little vaccinated!
Let me help you. The vaccine worked last May, now it is down to 0.2 times better than not getting the vaccine and not taking a chance on blood clots, allergic reactions, etc.
The risk outweighs the now meager benefits.
In Iceland the vaccinated and boosted have a 14- day incident of more cases for vaccinated children and adults than unvaccinated children and adults per 100,000 of each.
The virus has worked its way around the vaccine!!!
The once useful vaccine was weakened by Delta and now blown by with Omicron. As I said before, " outlived it's usefulness". I will not get boosted!

So interestingly enough, is it worth a look and/or discussion regarding correlation?
I'm not doing the leg work because with studies you can find evidence to support or refute whatever argument you'd like to make.
But considering the "show me the proof crowd" several scholarly articles show increased incidence rate among NFL athletes and reportedly NBA. There are some studies looking at correlations with the vaccine.
For me with the money at stake, I do not believe its a training, overtraining, overreaching, or recovery issue. So, its worth looking at.....scientifically speaking......excluding of course Rodgers.

Kevin Durant was pre-covid. Kobe. This seems glaring becsuse we have had three in these playoffs but I believe is has more to do with usage and play style. We hear so much about .modern players being soft because of "load management" but we don't hear enough about increased pace, possessions per game, etc. Aside from that, there is play style. Most if not all of recent achilles ruptures were off of negative step style dribble moves where you're putting the achilles in a compromised position only to then explode out of that foot positioning. Not only that but most if not all achilles injuries have come off of pre-existing calf/achilles soreness/injury.
So i'm all for studying longterm vaccine side effects, as i'm quite sure the do or will exist. We just have to be careful to not draw conclusions that aren't there. Maybe there is something to this but it would be nearly impossible to measure scientifically unless we can somehow show changes to muscle/tendon integrity.
This is what I do know, and have been saying since the mRNA vaccines were introduced. A segment of the population is so deadset on finding flaw/drawback to the vaccines for political reasoning. As I have said many times, mRNA and CRISPR therapies are the future of medicine. So if there are flaws, trial and era is the only way to find and mitigate them.

@StumpTownStu And the back to back, 3 in 4 nights, etc. What are pre-pandemic - post incidence rates for the major sports. Not saying anything other than if there's a jump in numbers it'd be an avenue worth exploring, even to rule out.
All of this stuff is worth exploring for the reasons I mentioned above. The worst thing that could've happened to mRNA therapies was being tied to the pandemic. I was doing a ton of reading on this stuff pre-pandemic. I was in my mid-30s and middle-age starts staring you in the face. I became obsessed with working out, intermittent fasting, diet, taking supplements, etc. And I started reading about things like mRNA and CRISPR. At the time, being used to create a new style of vaccine for a upper respiratory virus wasn't even on the radar. Talk about being small potatoes.
As I have said many times, this stuff is the future of medicine and should be embraced. And part of embracing them must be extensive research into any possible side effects. What the pandemic did was make one segment of society say they will never touch it and the other segment swear by, "Safe and effective." How can we call it safe when it's a new form of vaccine, a new style of therapy altogether. And frankly, to the efficacy aspect, it's ambiguous at best. Honestly, there are no metrics you can point to that prove the vaccine was effective at all. And ask yourself, why use this style of vaccine anyway? With the J&J vaccine, they literally took a version of a different virus, adenovirus, if I remenber correctly, sterilized so that it couldn't replicate/mutate, and they altered the DNA so that it would grow spikes and look like a corona virus. Why wouldn't we lean that way, seeing as how the mRNA vaccines were also based on something growing spikes to look like a corona virus? In this case, proteins our own body creates.

All this stuff, mRNA, CRISPR, it's all bio-hacking. It's reprogramming the body's computer to do a thing. This was the first official widespread test. And some point, theoretical had to becone practical.

Doctor Hotez of Texas children hospital warns that Kennedy's new advisory committee lacks expertise in vaccines and infectious diseases. It is organized to pursue a pseudoscience agenda. The committee is a waste of taxpayers money and should be dissolved. US risks sliding into vaccine chaos because of conflicting recommendations from experts and non-experts.

@thirdperson
Of course he feels this way, third. While being an expert in the field, he's also on the patent of several vaccines, including a covid vaccine. Go figure. That's what you call a conflict of interest. I'd be interested in seeing from which big pharma companies, if any, he has received payment.

American academy of pediatrics calls Kennedy's new vaccine advisory committee a embarrassment. His narrative that vaccine policies are flawed and need fixing is a distortion. In letter to US health department, American medical association and over 100 organizations demand reinstatement of previous vaccine advisors wrongly removed. Kennedy's purge threatens vaccine access, undermines public trust and risks reversing decades of progress in controlling preventable diseases. Public health should never be sacrificed to political theater.
