    Good point, Kelly!

Not only that but apparently MUCH  if not MOST   of the forests
that are now burning are said to be on FEDERAL land under FEDERAL management.

    Which means trump's government.

    FOX News
Chris Wallace Confronts Trump Campaign Adviser

“The president was saying something very different and much more alarming to
Bob Woodward in private than what he was telling the public,” Wallace stated,
adding: “Why not level with the American people, Steve?”

Steve Cortes reiterated that this had occurred during the “fog of war,”
prompting the Fox moderator to cut off the Trump flack.

“I’m going to interrupt you right there,” Wallace interjected. “It wasn’t the fog of war.
On January 28, the president got his presidential daily brief, the top intelligence
in the Oval Office. And at that point, his national security adviser, Robert O’Brien
said that this is the biggest challenge you’re going to face in your entire presidency.”

“So there was no fog of war there,” the Fox News host continued.
“The word that he was getting from his top intelligence and national security people
was that this was a deadly pandemic. There was no fog here.”

Wallace noted that Cortes’ insistence that the president was struggling
with shifting facts and lack of information flies in the face of the president’s
own explanation, which is that he lied to the public because he wanted to
    exude calmness and avoid panic.

FOX News Bret Baier Shuts Down
    Trump Campaign Spokesperson’s Lies

“He was not saying the same things publicly that he was privately
to Bob Woodward,” Fox News anchor Bret Baier said, correcting
his guest’s (Tim Murtagh) attempt to rewrite history.

“That’s not true, Tim”  the anchor said, interrupting his guest.
“It’s not true. When he was saying publicly that the virus would go
from 15 to zero and then it was magically going to wash away,
that is not the same thing he’s telling Bob Woodward, that it’s a
deadly virus that travels over the air and it’s really serious and
‘I like to downplay it.’ He was not saying the same things
publicly that he was privately to Bob Woodward.”

    Trump says he "up-played" coronavirus
    despite his own comments
saying he wanted to "play it down"

President Trump insisted that he didn't downplay the coronavirus
but rather “up-played it in terms of action taken” at ABC’s town hall set
to air in full Tuesday night.

Responding to a question from an undecided voter at ABC’s town hall,
Trump contradicts his own statements to journalist and author
Bob Woodward where he said he “wanted to always play it down.”

    'Herd mentality': Trump again asserts
    coronavirus will just 'disappear'

    USA TODAY
WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump claimed Tuesday during a
televised town hall that "herd mentality" could make the coronavirus
"disappear"  with or without a vaccine.

The same guy who says Dems are to blame for the massive destructive forest fires BECAUSE the Democrats weren't out there  "raking the leaves" from MILLIONS of acres of forests, says

                            'Herd mentality'

. . . and the republicans laugh at Biden !

    Trump Blames Biden
For Not Instituting National Mask Mandate

    MSN
“They said at the Democrat Convention…they’re going to do
a national mandate, they never did it,” Trump explained.
“Because they’re checked out, they never did it.”
He then doubled down by saying Joe Biden never called a national mandate,
which seemingly tried to lay blame for lack of leadership on mask-wearing
on a candidate for president and not the president himself?

This twisted logic was quickly noted by Biden himself, who responded on
social media with the retort that he is “not currently president”

Biden reminds America he’s not president
after Trump tries to pass the buck
    on coronavirus mask mandate

    NY DAILY NEWS

You can’t order Americans to wear masks if you aren’t president yet.

Joe Biden reminded President Trump that trump’s the one who’s supposed to be
running the country -- not Democrats -- after a rocky televised town hall hosted
by ABC News in which the president sought to pass the buck on his
    bungled response to coronavirus.

“To be clear: I am not currently president. But ... we can change that in November,”
    Biden tweeted after Trump’s retort.

    Texas woman fraudulently submitted
PPP loan applications for nearly $2M, DOJ says

This isn't the first incident of a person being charged for fraudulently receiving PPP loans.
In July, a Florida man was charged for receiving $3.9 million in loans to buy himself a
Lamborghini sports car, among other things.

A report released earlier this month found that PPP loans, originally designed for
small businesses, were wrongly dispersed to firms that had already received a
loan or were excluded from the program. Among other things, the report shows
that about 10,000 loans went to companies that received more than one PPP loan.

The dude in Florida came to light because he wouldn't wear a mask down by South Beach & was one of the first to get a ticket.

This moron was real chatty when the local news was filming the incident.

The reporter thought the guy was a real character, did a little research on him & before you knew it, the guy was nabbed.

    Russia 'very active' in 2020 election;
    REPUBLICAN FBI director testifies

    USA TODAY
Less than two months before the presidential election,
Republican FBI Director Chris Wray told lawmakers Thursday
that Russia remains "very active" in its effort to disrupt the vote,
primarily by denigrating Democratic nominee Joe Biden.

"The intelligence community's consensus is that Russia continues to try
to influence our election," Wray told the House Homeland Security Committee,
adding that the Kremlin's effort has focused on sowing discord
and disparaging the candidacy of the former vice president.

Wray's assessment tracked an earlier analysis published in August by the
National Counter-Intelligence and Security Center, which called out
pro-Russia Ukrainian parliamentarian Andriy Derkach for spreading
false corruption claims to undermine Biden's bid and the Democratic Party.

    ===========

Note: While all this is true - that "Russia, Russia, Russia" is once again
meddling in our presidential election to sow discord but specifically to
help trump and hurt the Democratic candidate (just like the Republican
Senate committee this summer AGREED they DID DO in 2016)
obviously the criminal trump-regime will do NOTHING substantive about it -

    -  because the Russians are helping THEM !!!!

    PEW Research Report | Sep 15, 2020
    13,273 respondents in 13 countries

    U.S. Image Plummets Internationally
    as Most Say the U.S.
    Has Handled Coronavirus Badly

In several countries, the share of the public with a favorable view of the U.S.
is as low as it has been at any point since the Center began polling on this
    topic nearly two decades ago.

For instance, just 41% in the United Kingdom express a favorable opinion of
the U.S., the lowest percentage registered in any Pew Research Center survey
there. In France, only 31% see the U.S. positively, matching the grim ratings
from March 2003, at the height of U.S.-France tensions over the Iraq War.
Germans give the U.S. particularly low marks on the survey: 26% rate the
U.S. favorably, similar to the 25% in the same March 2003 poll.

Across the 13 nations surveyed, a median of only 15%
say the U.S. has done a "good job" of dealing with the outbreak.

The publics surveyed also see Trump more negatively than other world leaders.
Ratings for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping
    are overwhelmingly negative  --

    - although not as negative as those for Trump!

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburgh has passed away at age 87.

GOP will wait a week then immediately move to ram through a very conservative nominee and they will get it only because of GOP majority in the Senate.

It should be noted that the GOP made a big todo about how NOBODY should be nominated for the SCOTUS in the final year of a presidential term. They insisted.  Despite the norm.  And they REFUSED to hear the case for Obama nominee Merrick Garland with 10 months left on Obama's term -- which the American public elected him to do.

But the Republicans REFUSED on their principle that "NOBODY should be nominated for the SCOTUS in the final year of a presidential term."

Now watch what is about to happen ...

The GOP leader insisted his position was rooted in principle.
"The American people should have a voice in the selection of their next
Supreme Court justice," McConnell said at the time.
"Therefore, this vacancy should not be filled until we have a new president."
He even invented a rule that did not exist – the manufactured "Biden Rule"
    – to serve as an official pretext for the scheme.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that trump is HAPPY that Ginsburgh died.

And only a complete MORON would even *think* that trump won't now be pushing
McConnell and Senate GOP to ram through his forthcoming nominee within just a few
weeks so that he could use that to feather his cap to voters.

And here we have it, just as I accurately predicted above (last night)

President Trump, in his first tweets of the day (Sat, Sep 19)

following the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg,

appeared to indicate that he will move forward on appointing a nominee "without delay."

And here we have it, just as I accurately predicted above (last night)

President Trump, in his first tweets of the day (Sat, Sep 19)

following the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg,

appeared to indicate that he will move forward on appointing a nominee "without delay."

My own take is, Trump and McConnell will plow in one more conservative Supreme Court justice ASAP, perhaps right before the end of October. And I am guessing after that, Biden will win in a landslide in Nov. as well as Dems takes back the senate majority, perhaps 51-49.
