America's shame part 2: 50 mill go hungry in USA

A) Create jobs  although jobs are created on their own accord.  creating jobs that no one needs just so someone can make some money that came from my tax dollars...

B) Raise the minimum wages (half those making minimum wage would then fired.  how about prevent illegals from obtaining employment...doesnt matter if theres a min wage if illegals work for less anyway.)

C) Cheaper Health Care  unfortunately we can't agree on how to make it cheaper, you seem to think that giving it away to poor people will make it cheaper...

D) Increased benefits (again, you cant just give people benefits, people have to earn them and they have to be paid out of the employers pocket 
(just out of repulsed curiosity... increase benefits across the board or for a certain industry or pay scale??)

E) Prolong unemployment benefits (why not indefinitely...)

F) Expand the food stamp program  (seriously man)

G) And the most important of them all "RAISE TAXES" on all making more than 250.000$   (how much money you make should not determine how much taxes you pay.  everybody should pay the same percent)

A)  i would impose tarrifs that require certain things to be taxed when imported into this country so that the jobs would not be shipped overseas just so the CEO can make more money while improving the economy overseas but destroying it here. of course this would impose problems as our prices of goods would go up but more people would have money to spend on said goods.

B) ALL illegals immediately booted out of the country.  you can come back but you are going to do so legally.  put our troops on the border...

C) impose a flat income tax on everybody whether you make 15 thousand or 15 million.  i dont know the math but i would think a flat 30% income tax from everybody should do it i would think.

D)  i suppose you could 'expand' the food stamp program.   but by expand i mean contract.  no more buying junk shit food or anything of the sort.  only natural food thats good for you.  two birds, one stone.  obesity and foodstamp/welfare costs. (maybe youve never seen people use food stamps but they buy pop-tarts and fruit roll-ups, and then pull out cash to buy ciggarettes.  and you wanna expand this program...


E) if you want to go on welfare then you are going to live significantly differently than everyone else.  you are not going to decide where you live or what you eat.  you are not going to have cash to spend.

I refuse to believe this study. Certainly if that many people were going hungry the overall population wouldn't be so fat. Mik, I'm not surprised you fell for this ridiculous article. Additionally if we didn't have 20-30 million illegals here, we'd have less hungry people. 

I was just thumbing through the national fish wrap the USA Today (Tuesday). Page 7D (Life).

this is all bs.......1st of all every state as food stamps and if you are that poor then you can get food stamps.....may not be prime rib but roman noodles will do...also many people decide to do drugs,cigarettes,alcohol, gambling with their money instead of eating.....so i don't want to hear the BS about this..there are also homeless shelters who give out food all of the time. This is america not africa (atleast for now) any bum even if they didnt get food stamps can panhandle 1 or 2 bucks for a meal for the day utter bs about this study...problem is i guess these people want the food delivered to them by government workers hot and ready

Well, we can save alot of money on welfare if we started drug testing the people who get it, if your positive for any drugs, you loose it. It is unfair that the hard working american, (who's taxes pay welfare) have to get tested, not all but most. But the paople who reep the benefits do not. Yes it will cost money to test, but i believe over the long run, it will pay for itself. Just something that always bugged me.

I agree with some of your solutions but it does not solve the problems.
You say no jobs, nothing must be given out on your taxpayer money.
However you are already paying to all of that right now with the flawed system. So why not try to fix it?

You say you want lower taxes on everyone. Well let me ask you this a lower tax of nothing or very little, how will that make people afford food, health care ect?

All you republicans base your solutions out of everyone have money and just lower taxes then every might be fine. NOT WORKING. If a person only earns 20.000 dollars, lowering the persons tax a bit will not make a difference in their lives when they other costs are not lowered (which they are not due to the profit driven and flawed system you have there).

The state needs to be a reliable mediator for its citizens and secure a level playing field. That is why social liberalism works well.

 Probably the 25% you speak of are illegals. Keep something in mind that I have said many times,"I'll give a man a hand up, but not a handout." There will always be some less fortunate than others, that's just the way it is. Don't try to make me feel guilty, I've worked hard my entire life for what I have and have given my fair share to charities.(SPCA, Salvation Army, and Masonic home for kids.) Trying to make everyone equal is an impossibe feat except in the eyes of the Lord. Some people are willing to work and some would rather sit on their butt and wait for the government to take care of them. One last thing about your healthcare rant, the deadbeats would rather spend what they've got or get on beer or wine than insurance. they 've realized after 40yrs of suckin' on the government tit that the bleedin' hearts will take care of them.
