** Because of the House republicans. Plain and clear!
• Shutdown likely to continue: Speaker Mike Johnson flatly rejected a UNANIMOUSLY-passed bipartisan Senatebill that would have largely funded the Department of Homeland Security, saying the House GOP will advance its own plan fully funding all of DHS.
Democrats, who are holding out for reasonable immigration enforcement reforms, have said that’s a non-starter, meaning the DHS shutdown will likely extend further.

In one display of anger, leaders of the ultraconservative House Freedom Caucus announced they would not support the [unanimous, bipartisan] Senate measure, demanding that any bill include more money for border patrol, as well as one of Trump’s top domestic priorities: new voter ID restrictions.

No end to DHS shutdown in sight
as House GOP reject Senate bill
After rejecting a bipartisan, unanimous Senate-passed bill, House Republicans [led by a trump-worshipping asshole] are racing toward a vote on their own funding proposal.
But Senate Democrats say the flawed House GOP plan is a non-starter.![]()
**Meaning, because the House republicans rejected a UNANIMOUS bill passed by the Senate, the DHS shutdown will likely extend further, as the GOP continue their mindless dysfunction.
Make no mistake, the republicans are indeed the ones causing this.....AGAIN!

So far, unanimous senate bill is the closest to a bipartisan solution. Similar to what democrats asked for weeks ago. Separate funding of TSA and others except for ICE and CBP. Finally, Trump agrees to fund TSA after delay to make people suffer in order to push his demands for unnecessary SAVE act and continued ICE brutality. Problem is that there is no incentive for republicans to compromise because ICE is over funded by their big ugly bill which cuts government spending to give tax cuts to the rich.

So gay people should be shipped, immigrants should be shipped, people voting for Democrats should be shipped, people that don't protect pedophiles etc., etc. — I think at some point it would be an easier solution for you if you just left. I don't personally know a country that would be happy to host you off the top of my head — but thought I would throw the idea out there because, with your intellect in mind, I am not sure it is a possible solution that has occurred to you?

@thirdperson
Precisely. Republicans caused this, and after Mike Johnson REJECTED the unanimous bill from the senate, it is once again the REPUBLICANS who continue the problem...
Thankfully, the intelligent people, not just here but around the globe, do understand that fact...

Judge rules that White House ballroom construction ‘has to stop!’
A federal judge on Tuesday blocked President Donald Trump from moving ahead with any further work on a massive new $400 million ballroom on the former site of the White House East Wing.
“The President of the United States is the steward of the White House for future generations of First Families. He is not, however, the owner!”
Judge Richard Leon wrote.
Leon is an appointee of former republican President George W. Bush.

In light of trump's repeated *promises* to America to lower prices and make the cost-of-living more affordable - on his word of honor as a republican . . .
Aviation fuel prices:
January 16 >>>>>>> $1.95/gallon
February 28: trump starts an ill-conceived war w/o consulting Congress or NATO,
April 02 >>>>> $4.23/gallon ![]()

Illegal for Trump to withdraw US from NATO without congress approval. NATO is the most successful defensive alliance in history. Contrary to Trump claim, NATO has no obligation to help US start unprovoked wars against other countries. US is the only member to receive NATO help because of 9/11 attack in New York.
