Protesters took to the streets around the World, including in Australia, Iceland, Sweden, Denmark, Ireland, England, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Panama, Mexico, Canada, and the British Virgin Islands. And many more protested in silence.

This isn't about us versus you! When someone tries to silence its population against its will, we unite as humans. US organizers say 7 million people attended over 2500 "no kings" events in all 50 states.  Protesting Trump administration authoritarian agenda, threat to democracy, immigration raids, firing of federal workers, dismantling of institutions, cuts to social safety net and deployment of national guard at cities.  In speech, TV science guy Bill Nye says, "Trump group of confederates have worked to undo many of US traditions, understandings of fairness and citizen rights.  They cannot tolerate dissent.  To them, free speech is frightening."

In Trump first term, longest government shutdown in US history.  No fluke that current shutdown is the second longest so far.  Problem is that congress republicans take orders from the most divisive president in US history.  In contrast, Biden has no full shutdown because of ability to compromise.  Now electing republicans is a recipe for dysfunction and gridlock in government.

For decades, republicans have been. responsible for almost all government shutdowns. No surprise  most Americans blame republicans again.. Since majority support extending Obamacare subsidies, that means they prefer increased spending of democrats over spending cuts of republicans. Polls show most Americans believe U.S. is going in the wrong direction. This is bad news for republicans because they control congress and white house. Americans know republicans have the power to end shutdown but refuse to accept reasonable compromise.

so only one side excessively keeps budgets and bills from passing that cause shutdowns...you're joking right???

Both parties suck at this whole political thing and the American people suffer as a result.....stop with the one sidedness BS because both your party and the other party do this shit equally....bunch of muppets in office that cause this shit....you can't even see things objectively because you have blinders on...most average American's don't have clue as to why there is a shutdown to begin with because both sides muddy the waters so much that it can become difficult to figure out who to blame from their perspective...if you think the majority average American is that smart you give them way too much credit....
