What a speech by both Ryan and Romney!!! And the crowd chants USA, USA, USA to drown out a heckler......
He continued, as the crowd began cheering again: “Mr. President, take
your campaign out of the gutter. Let’s talk about the real issues that
America faces.”
That is exactly what this ticket does, it forces Obama to talk about the issues and not Bain capital, and not Romney's taxes !!!!!

I hear alot of noise and cheering, hoping to convince people that ryan is a good pick...
but not any real reasons why ryan was the best choice...
I could understand real excitement about a promising young prospect like rubio or rand/ron....
but as an undecided voter, I have to say that ryan means less to me then figuring out what romney actually stands for and what he plans to do...
the noise looks like a smoke screen to avoid that from happening...
this reminds me of all the noise palin made... except GOP didnt have to fake the orgasm and excitement... she actually brought excitement and invigorated the party...
I honestly believe that romney being such a weak candidate, running him with anyone very charismatic or exciting would have made romney look less by comparison...

Even as a current college student I didn't have much of a problem with what these guys want to do.............until I read the second to last paragraph.
"All of this will be accompanied, of course, by even greater tax giveaways to the rich, and extravagant benefits to powerful military contractors. Business leaders will be granted their wish for severely diminished watchdogs over the environment, mine safety and food quality."

companies and special interests pay a lot of money to buy politicians. they don't do it for nothing.

was hoping for Rubio or Ryan, but we need Rubio in the Senate to have the numbers to replace Obamacare.
This choice puts the debt and economy in the face of everybody. I Love it!! A huge contrast in this election. Do you want an entitlement society, or a fiscal opportunity society.

Romney/Ryan 2012 So Pumped!!!!!
So obama was forced to talk about the issues and won?
seems like a poor strategy to try to force obama to talk about the issues if that gives him an advantage...

DL thanks for bumping this. Reading this was worth a great laugh. Sadly many continued to think Romney would win in a rout despite obvious evidence that he was going to get smokes. I hope these guys didn't put their money where their mouth was.

I remember a poster call obama a "log" and bet at -200 or less...
so I like to think that most of us were living in reality and not living in a "fantasy land"...
funny that I never get an answer about why ryan was the best choice...
in retrospect perhaps rubio would have been a better choice... ron paul would have brought in the conservatives that supported him...
I dont know why the GOP selected him... where is it that ryan adds votes from those that did not already commit to voting for anything presented to them other then obama?
Im going as far as saying that he might have lost the election for romney who might have won with another running mate...

Regardless of who Romney picked as his VP it would not have mattered. Obama was going to win regardless due to how weak of a candidate Mitt Romney was. To illustrate how weak he was his campaign team fundamentally misread what the electorate was. They thought the racial composition would be like it was in 2000 and it wouldn't resemble 2008. They tailored their strategy on maximizing the white vote. When the electorate was even more diverse then in 2012 then what it was in 2008 it was over.
Not surprising as far too many conservatives don't believe in science or statistics. The smart ones realize they have a massive problem with their base.

I was aware that Romney's state communicated to the nation what they thought about his performance in executive office in their state...
but I was not aware that... Ryan was a Loser
Seems like a poor strategy to run candidates that their own state displays to the entire nation what they thought about their performance on the state level... Makes it look like we dodged a bullet...
I am not sure why the GOP made the choice to pick to candidates that were "Losers in their own State"...
Seems like poor strategy to me...
It is also interesting that as "pumped" as FRC appeared to be he could give me no logical reason why ryan was the best choice...
It say alot about how people like that think about things... no logic, reasoning or critical thinking...

The GOP's pattern of playing the race card would seem like a good strategy in that if every white person voted against the black-muslim-hitler romney would have won every single state (except of where obama was born and raised)... simply with the fact that every state has more white people then black people...
The problem is that the GOP's choice in deploying the playing of the race card strategy resulted in a loss... meaning that white people are more willing to choose a candidate based on what is best for america and not blindly vote based on race...
It seem like it is time to try a different strategy

I kept saying that I did not think he was the right choice and as I remember it romney was leading in the polls after the first debate and then took a complete nose dive after the Ryan nomination...
Why did that happen? I thought everyone was supposed to be "pumped"?

Romney went from losing to losing big. Way to go Mitt!
Mitt's already running away from Ryan and it hasn't even been 24 hours. Ryan's claim to fame is his budget, which Mitt said is marvelous. Now he says well maybe not so much. Pure comedy gold.

seems like poor strategy to pick a vice president candidate that you know is a Loser...
why would the GOP pick him when they know Ryan is a Loser?
Just doesnt make sense... well it didnt to me... and I think the numbers back it up...
Not sure why FRC was so pumped... and if you read the thread I am not sure if FRC knew why he is pumped other then it was prescribed to him to feel that way...
Read the thread, he has no reason why he is so pumped...

You folks on the left keep on crowing about O'bama's victory, but all we have is an Obstructionist in Office.
He is not interested in making deals , finding common ground, and more interested in passing blame to others when things don't go right. (Witness the sequester). He truly wanted things to awry so he could pass the blame to the other party.
He is quite possibly the most immature, arrogant POS I've ever seen in office before.

rush... honestly i am not attacking you... perhaps we can see what you thought about the ryan selection for VP... if you read the thread you see my being very skeptical that it was the right choice...
do you think that ryan was a poor choice? either at the time and/or in hind sight

Cool_Arrow already touched on some of the important points. The selection of Ryan was immaterial, and the republican base has a serious problem with shifting demographics in this country.
Hispanics are a rising force, and their numbers have impacted the last two elections.... And most importantly, they have moved away from the republicans for years for a variety of reasons, including immigration reform. Not defending their actions, just sayin' ..
Also, O'bama has incited class warfare (successfully) in this country, pitting the haves and the have nots.
All in all, O'bama is a horrible president because he is not a leader, and doesn't inspire confidence. Instead of wanting people to do better in their lives, he is more interested in taking from (i.e. taxing) Peter to give to Paul... Redistribution of income at its finest...
