poker is so dumb sometimes... most of the time

playing 2 tourneys, busted out 53rd out of 1200+ in one and got crippled on the other with simultaneous hands

 

busted out on jj got called by monster stack aq

 

of course queen on river

 

in other tourney earlier stages, kk got snapped by j10suited with 2 jacks on board

 

and yes, I couldn't have played either any better, got my chips in preflop in the big tourney and went all in with kk on a board of QJ8

Thats why I don't like playing big tourneys, SO many things have to go your way to get deep.  Your 55% have to hold up like 70% of the time and your 70%ers have to hold up 80+% of the time.  When you get knocked out it sucks so bad.

wow check this out... in my crippeled one... i battle back and have AK suited in the small blind. everyone folds. I push all in and say in the chat box, c'mon bro double up or go home... he was a shorter stack but still with a life. he calls with AJ

i hear ya electric ladyland. i'm a master of making the money but not getting to the final stages of the big tourneys. the other night i got 670th out of 12,500+. my 22 dollar investment turned only 55 or something for 3.5 to 5 hours of playing. unless you make final table the payoutstructure is so flat it doesn't even warrant doing

Yeah, I try and stay away from the online stuff anymore, and will only play live games anymore. This stuff still happens, but doesnt happen as often it seems because in a casino you just cant click on another tournament and be going again in a couple minutes after the last one ended. Keeps more people from playing okay hands.

I just hate having to tip dealers in real life
