So, I , like so many others consider myself a decent poker player. I am watching the WSOP last night on tape delay and the following hand comes up. Excuse me if I blow this some as it is from memory,
Nguyen AJ
Old Guy 22
Young Kid 33
Raise, reraise, AJ makes it like 9 million with 300 million in play. Call with the ducks and then call with the threes.
30 million in the pot.
Flop comes 2,3,K
AJ bets another 10 million UTG, Call and Call.
5 on the on the turn making a wheel draw for the A and not helping the sets.
Check from the AJ
Large bet like 20 million from the Ducks and then the set of trey's goes all in.
AJ folds
Ducks Call-
Helmuth and Negraneu both criticize the call and say how could he think that he was calling anything but 3's or K's ( less likely with no preflop raise)
I say if I am sitting on a set of ducks, I have to call too. I knew the guy was gone as soon as the flop turned over.
Could you legitimately lay this down THIS LATE IN A TOURNEY?
Yes, the young kid was playing super tight but still could he not have AA or AK?
AK would probably have to play that hand pretty similar to that, right?
Worse commentating I have ever seen. I think The Magician is dynamite though and he gives "real world views" looking at hands like he cannot actually see the hole cards.
