Anyone see the Ken Langone interview on CNBC? For those of you whoo don't know who he is, he happens to be the founder of Home Depot !
In a shocking turn of events Mr Lagone who did not cast a vote for Trump, opposed his tariffs NOW say's I'm sold on Trump !
I think he has a shot as going down as one of the BEST PRESIDENTS EVER ! He goes on to say people are walking around with a bounce in their walk now !

Trump chickened out because it actually did affect the stock market when he threatened to impose them on the world (so you are more or less back to square one - the market has no reason to react - it is you guys imposing them on yourself) - and right now the market don’t react because it anticipates he won’t go through with them - if you go through with the tariffs on EU of 30% - your stock market will be cut in half or worse within a few months

Tariffs are importers tax - you as an American consumer/business pay those when you import stuff - you would also have more government funds if he raised taxes (that doesn’t mean your economy would do better if he did) - those tariffs that will hurt your economy is the counter tariffs (and for a big part you haven’t faced those yet) - these you have now - just redistribute wealth - from consumers pockets into the governments - exactly like normal taxes

Which again explains why the stock market haven’t reacted - right now he has just increased the amount of tax an average American pay/or your businesses pay - and even though that sucks for you - it pretty much is irrelevant for the market - counter tariffs will on the other hand influence everything from GDP, export to tourism and everything inbetween

You know, at first the stock market was going to tank, shelves would be empty, prices would soar, and then we would be at war with Iran. Add that to the Russian hoax, the laptop was Russian made, get the vaccine and you will never even get COVID, white supremacy is our greatest threat and one group seems to be batting a thousand.
So forgive me if I laugh out loud, 
, because my basically fixed retirement income has never gone farther.
True if more production is moved to the United States prices for those items may increase. But I try to buy American Made when I can. We have to wean ourselves from cheap labor countries and have some self-astainabilty.

You can laugh all you want - doesn’t change facts - you could also have brought American made before if you wanted - and tariffs are taxes on imported items (paid by the importer) and again he hasn’t imposed tariffs on most countries in the world - he has threatened to do so - but you don’t have to go further back than April to see how the market reacts if it thinks he will go through with them - then imagine how it will react if he goes through with them 
- but I don’t fucking care - my life isn’t better if Trump fails - but doesn’t change what tariffs are and what effect they have (and the reason the markets don’t react is because Trump until now has been a box)
