Magic should stick to all his off the court businesses and leave the basketball operations to the experts...hes already a failure at this job for the Lakers and giving him 2 more seasons to be the lame duck that he is will only set them back 2 more years minimum....just because he was a great player doesnt make him automatically a great front office man...hes clueless and lost and has no idea what hes doing...thinks his smile and personality will get the job done...so wrong...Michael Jordan is the perfect example why it doesnt work...high expectations and no results....this nostalgia for the Lakers franchise is simply ridiculous...Kareem West Magic Kobe Shaq...thats why they were a storied franchise...not because of the uniform....i used to be the biggest Lakers fan in the 80s because of the style of game they played, not because of the jersey....similar to todays Warriors...not too many people appreciated the Mullins Ritchmond Hardaway days because Oakland was not a big TV market like LA, but now with live streaming and social media they are now in the discussion for GOAT teams because of style of play plus top elite players.

I really hope Magic decides to walk away sooner because there is no chance Lebron is going there this year or next...just my opinion...ive been saying all along hes staying atleast one more year in Cleveland and it looks like he is...and if he makes the finals again with players/teammates TBD, thats 5 in a row...why not stay there and go for 6 7 8 in a row...the east is weak and if he gets the right roster hes capable to make many more finals...win or lose he will always have the Warriors to blame as being this eras unlucky loser...but it wont hurt his legacy in the end.

    I appreciated Run TMC!

These teams will never learn when appointing a great player to manage a team. Everyone is not Jerry West.

Playing a game could have more to do with all-world talent (which means you do LESS work, not more). Front office work isn’t for the talented! It’s for the WORKER. And world class athletes like Jordan and Magic may have worked hard during their careers but their talent took them to their glory. Their on the court talent helps them nothing in the front office.

If Lebron goes to LA it will be the most befuddling decision ever for a free agent.

The Laker glory years are over. I just think about how Kobe faded out (basically forced to retire) and the debacle that was Dwight Howard (getting thrown out of his last Laker game, an elimination game against the Spurs).

And now Lebron is going to go there for Kuzma Ball and Ingram? That’s IF he doesn’t opt in for a sign and trade so the Cavs get assess (so Kuzma Ball and /or Ingram would need to be traded).

So leave your home town team high and dry, a team you left hanging the whole year to boot, go to a young team that won less than 40 games (even if PG comes make it 50 and a semifinal playoff loss?), play in the loaded west, all because of what? Magic Johnson’s smile and you can see your kids go to high school?

Insane. A half billion dollar walking talking brand ... for that...?

    We’ll see soon

Friday for opting in or out. That should tell us a lot.

His camp then says a final decision will come before the 4th.

When I say “that should tell us a lot” I mean, just because he opts in doesn’t mean he’s staying...it just means he might stay and/or do a sign and trade.

    The oddity here is this:

He preached that he wanted “to set a new standard” with this next contract.

He literally (yes, literally) was at the bargaining table and this got done just for him, got the player union rule to have a five year contract end at 38 NOT 36 for HIM.

That is, if you are 33 (he is now), he can sign a 5 year deal to age 38, which is what he bargained for. Previously a five year deal couldn’t go past 36. Don’t ask me why.

If he goes to another team, they can only give him 4 years max.

Only the Cavs can offer him the deal he wanted (which is a deal that will set a stage for other players, 5 years for around 200 million + for someone who is 33).

He wants to be remembered for (among many things!) “Hey you were almost in your mid 30’s and got a $200+ record breaking deal!” For players of the future. His legacy, contract-wise, would be redeemed, as he was shortchanged by the Heat and opted into one and two year deals with the Cavs.

So contract wise, if he leaves, that is out the window. And his hopes to be considered possibly the greatest ever and not making max max max money as a standard he feels will dilute players contracts of the future.

Just saying. It’s something he was passionate about...

When I say “that should tell us a lot” I mean, just because he opts in doesn’t mean he’s staying...it just means he might stay and/or do a sign and trade.

James. Love. Thompson. Insert another superstar. Insert a serviceable PG.  stays east. Stays home.  The people cheer.  Done deal.  Currently +160 on my site.  Thinking of laying some coin there.

Like I’ve said many times and to add to Scals point among all the other things he wants to be remembered for is going to 10,11,12,13,14 etc straight finals.  No other player has done it.   He won’t catch Jordan’s finger jewelry but this is a nice little parting gift.

why not send Leonard east to THE CAVES, build a nice little Cleveland "lovable loser" hoops legacy and retire a Cav...and work out a deal with Gilbert to own let's say 5% or 10% of the team when he retires which will easily be worth over 1 billion.

Love aint going anywhere, when he plays he fits nicely on this team, Thompson is stuck in the paint here as this teams "Rodman" but the cavs would be best suited to dump him,,, get rid of JR, Clarkson, Korver, and let Hood and Nance find their minutes on this team...maybe they can find another 3pt sharp shooter like Nick Young (I hear the cocaine scene in Cleveland is up to his standards), and then go out and get someone like Boogie...now you have another legit big 3 in Cleveland...all they need is to encourage Lue to resign, find a top level coach like Stan Van The Man for a 2 year stint and there's the recipe for Warriors/Cavs 5.0 and 6.0

Im not an unders player.  Too many things can go wrong, overtime and of course the endless free throw fest that often occurs in the last 90 seconds of a close game.

All of you know this and dont need a lecture on the subject.

So you will be cautious when I tell you that there is a live offer of UNDER 193.5 at halftime in the Dallas v Las Vegas WNBA game which had an original total of 167.5

    Score at the half: 55-52.

    CAUTION!!!!!

Problem is that Cleveland has no pieces to trade, unless someone is looking for a big salary dump down the road.   Lebron has handcuffed the future of the team since they have rarely had a 1st round pick since he's been back or even in the later years of his first go round.  He is also constantly holding the team hostage in the offseason when he is deciding what to do.

I hate the VSin guy saying how terrible the Cavs organization and fans are and that they 'don't deserve Lebron'.   Gilbert bent over backwards to his every demand.  Not a lack of trying on his part.  Not his fault you can't have a real coach while Lebron is on the roster.  Not his fault useful players come in and become benchwarmers due to the style of play.

Final total lands at 188.  Another validation for the EV system, but for me just a woulda, coulda, shoulda.

These unders can easily blow up in the late stages of the 4th Q with the foul game or a ridiculous unguarded 3 with 2 sec left to push it over by a hook...best to stay away from these wagers and look for + EV overs like we thief so frequently.

Love France to spank Argentina and you get plus odds.   Will most likely be locking that one in soon.
