You can praise Paterno all you want for his charitable donations to the University, his high graduation rates, etc.  

He was completely negligent in this situation and his in-actions (and others) led to what seems like dozens of more abuses by Sandusky that could have been stopped..

Maybe I confused you with my stats.  The fact that 1 in 6 kids are abused is irrelevent to my stats.  Read them again. 

The fact is if you are abused as a kid you are much more likely to get hooked on drugs, lead a life of crime, get involved in the sex trade or commit suicide than if you were not abused.  

Read up boy.

Until you see the effects of a bomb on a mud house full of kids, you can't possibly understand what moral outrage truly is in the big picture. I have worked with severely abused kids, and the majority do very well. Sure they do have a hard road. But they can and do get better. There are many kinds of abuse out there. The percentages quoted for "negative" outcomes to being abused as a child are different than the ones I quoted but they clearly indicate a much higher probability of having serious mental and social issues as an adult.
