he is guilty of lack of judgement at the most by not following up more thoroughly. as he said, as anyone related to the case, hell even i who has friends in that area has said, "in hindsight" we all wish we saw something or could have done more.
you can't make citizen arrests or spread the word around town that some guy is a child molester when you did not see anything and heard second hand from a jackass that he saw some stuff, but clearly he did not state rape to paterno, that has been consistent.
thats why to many of us "crazy" people, we feel he is not as guilty as the guy who was not on the penn state staff for the past 13 years and who was was the one accused of fondling kids and giving back cracks.
if you dont see the difference between joe paterno and jerry sandusky and your mind cannot differentiate their guilty, then you are just plain stupid.
the media's reaction which forced the hand of BOT is disgusting. When you have an apples to apples case in Syracuse. Kudos to the Cuse BOT for handling it like they should have as it will just go away over time, much like it already has. And Bernie Fine sat next to JB for decades on the bench up until this season while this was going on.
If you dont see the unfairness in that, then you are wrong. This is why Paterno supporters, or even the common educated man have taken to defending Paterno and giving him the benefit of the doubt. He may have been wrong, but he is not guilty of being a child molester. The pathetic public (some) cannot see this and cannot see that they are being duped by the media, much like Hitler duped so many. Give someone a platform and a microphone and they can sway a nation/world.
if you read my 2 posts again, you will notice the following:
-Not once did I call Joe a pedo.
-Not once did I compare Joe to Sandusky, or infer any sort of likeness.
-Not once did I bring up another unfortunate story at Syracuse and ESPN coverage surrounding both scandals
-Not once did I address any sort of issue other than how the man should be judged.
If Joe Paterno is the kind of man his supporters claim to be, than I would imagine that Joe himself would agree to mourn the victims a and the innocence lost, not him.
Its unfortunate how it all came crumbling down for Joe, but it was of his own making. He made the bed he is going to die in.
