Chub, as most of you know, was a baseball executive who famously offered his middle digit to fans on Fan Appreciation Night. I used to be more active on the ClubDirt thread, but I'm old and I got sick. Back then I made decent money observing ( not tailing ) Getty and HughJorgan, two of the most astute players I have ever followed ( I'm guessing we all wish they still posted here ). I don't have a favorite team because I gamble. I've played for a long time, but I haven't found myself in a serious hedging situation before because I rarely bet futures. My question involves a bet I made in advance of the playoffs. I put $500 on New England to win the Super Bowl at 10-1. I wanted to bet NE just to get to the SB because although I thought 10-1 was too high, I didn't think it likely NE would beat the NFC SB representative. However, my book didn't offer that opportunity. I don't want to risk $5K on this or any other game, but I will if it's just stupid to hedge. Obviously, I can get my equity out by just taking the Seattle ML, but it goes against all my gambling instincts to lay 2.25-1 in a contest that either side can win. I am respectfully asking for the thoughts of the ClubDirt community. Thank you.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,depends on ur financial situation,,,if u need the cash , hedge, if not let it ride,,,,,,,,,,if it was even money on sea surely hedge, but laying 2 plus to 1 fuck it,,,,,,,,,,,there used to be an old thread about hedging, the consensus was never hedge,,,,,,,,,again unless u need that loot guaranteed in hand, let that shit ride,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
