Was reading he was probably leaving for another offensive coordinator gig like why leave the Chiefs for the same position if not going for a head coaching job? Those play calls last night and throughout Mahomes career have been a thing of beauty. I know I'm late but just learned Reid draws up and calls all the plays. I can see why he wants out now but all those years trying for a head coaching job why just go for an offensive coordinator years ago?
If Bieniemy isn't calling plays wtf is there for?

I hope he comes to Baltimore If Harbaugh starts slipping at his job then he can take it over and be the head coach!
For Bieniemy to work in Baltimore I think Lamar would officially have to be gone. But I just don't see any team giving him a guaranteed contract

Everyone knew Reid was calling the plays...It's his offense....It's the reason why Bienemy has not gotten a HC job...because he was not calling the plays like a true mastermind upcoming OC would....You still have to have an OC by title name...Lots of college head coaches call the plays and have OC's...Yes he needs to get out of the Andy Reid shadow and prove he is a great OC.

Being a coordinator on a team where the head coach calls the plays has to suck because if the off/def excels the head coach gets the credit and if either sucks then they'll get the blame and potentially fired

Why would he need to go anywhere else, when he has say and his fingerprints all over the greatest offensive team this league has seen maybe ever (notable mention to Montana/Young era of SF),,,with at least another 3-5 years to leave a legacy that will never be touched.
The moment he becomes a HC, he will have a heart attack, gain 100 pounds, live under pressure and stress 24/7, etc,,,he's got it made, and I'm pretty sure he has been promised the Cheifs HC job when Walrus calls it a career...which could be next year if they end up repeating.
I believe KC will start to implement their own version of rest management for Kelce and Mahomes, either just play them for a 1h or sit them out altogether versus the dregs of the league like Houston, Atlanta, Chicago, Indy, etc.
Should be fun to watch what Andy Reid invents next...Goat in his own way, plus having #15 is a gift to any coach.

I can’t believe people are actually serious about Bienemy being a head coach.
Charlie Weiss….Romeo Crennel.
I actually hope it happens so PEOPLE CAN SHUT THE HELL UP !!!
Stay in that role at the Chiefs. Good offense and when you are losing Roger Goodell jumps in over the top rope to help.
Easiest job in the world

Is Bieniemy a major contributor to this KC offense or is his presence of the token variety? Looking at Reid on the sideline, during the games, holding that giant play sheet a few inches from his face, how could anyone not conclude that he is the one calling the plays? How many other head coaches hold a big azz play sheet during a game?
Seems to me that Mahomes AND Reid and the entire Chiefs' organization want to move on from him. Last year EB's contract negotiations were held up and there were stories of him moving on then.
Despite their public praise of EB, there has been friction between Mahomes and EB, and Kelce and EB and others and given an ultimatum we all know who is expendable.
Perhaps in his interviews Bieniemy doesn't sell himself well or enough...to simply play the race card in this instance might be a gross misunderstanding of the reality.
One rumor is that he will be the OC in Arizona but that he will definitely not be in KC for the 2023 season.

You must have come late to the party, your loss.
I've been spitting out accurate takes and winning handicapping advice for over 15 years...if you don't like what I provide on covers, then simply ignore it and remain stuck in neutral with your own opinions.
Seeing your posting history, there is very little original thought you provide as you are a mouthpiece for a slanted perspective of the media and the side of aisle you think you represent.
Rest management is coming to the NFL, and Mahomes/Kelce/Reid will be allowed to get away with it under Goodell's reign because nobody gives two shits if a random offensive tackle or some unknown named corner gets hurt, they'll just say next man up as their slogan goes...but the league is run by stars, and each team has one or two if they are lucky.
By the 2025, the league will morph into something most traditionalists won't like at all,,,but because they all have degen gambling issues and have stuck their entire life's finances into the NFL, they will never quit throwing away good money after bad and accept their own defeat at the hands of the 1% elite who run the NFL money making machine off of low IQ spaghetti sauce stains degens who believe their political opinion is the only one that counts.
I have no clue who you are, never did, and won't care moving forward. Please continue to pretend you are all knowing for all topics other than sports betting, and allow the grown ups continue doing what this site is intended for.
BOL next year with surely your own NFL capping threads, I'll be looking for them to fade. ![]()

@packersbackers
You wrote that the Chiefs' head coaching job has been promised to Bieniemy so how can anyone take YOU seriously? ![]()
Uh, right, you have more chance of being a head coach for the Chiefs than he does.
Such a statement shows how out of touch with reality that you are.

I remember reading the same thing. It stands to reason that is he stayed, the Chiefs head coaching job would be his when Reid retires. When Reid retires. Reid is still adding to his own legacy and there is opportunity for Eric to install Reid's offense elsewhere. You don't have to be an offensive wunderkind. I love Baby Shan's offense but it's still just a variation of his dad's offense. Reid's offense still has it's roots in Walsh's offense. There's nothing wrong with learning an offense and installing it elsewhere. Byron Leftwich should have gotten the Tampa Bay job. Whether they felt he is ready or not, when he leaves he will install his version of Bruce Arians offense. There are only a handful of true systems in the NFL. That's why there are so many coaches in the Walsh tree. You want a guy that has spent years under a great and mastered that system enough to make it there own.

@StumpTownStu
We have all read that EB will take over for Reid when he retires, but do you believe everything that you read? EB will not be on the Chiefs' staff in 2023.
Ron Rivera a defensive minded head coach with the Commanders has expressed interest in hiring EB. With the new ownership, is Rivera even certain he will be back this year?
Of course EB's many off field brushes with the law might have sealed his fate. Some owners and GMs might not want to trust that his prior bad judgment in the past won't rear its ugly head??? Unfair, maybe it is, but some people are not willing to entrust a team to anyone who has a record.
It is not how I feel personally, as we are all flawed in some way and deserving of another chance in life.
Perhaps he also doesn't instill confidence in his interviews, EB might not sell himself as well as he should?
Considering the times we live in, it is so much easier to play the 'race' card rather than weighing any other possible hindrances in his case. Also, one race doesn't have a monopoly on racial bias, as quiet as it is kept.
I thought that Brian Flores was doing a good job with the Miami Dolphins and deserved more time to right their ship. Also feel that any owner who requests that his head coach tank certain games is beneath contempt if indeed that was the case.

There's prob a ton of coaches with arrest records and a ton of coaches who check off on whatever negative they perceive to be the reason bieniemy hasnt been hired if so then how valid can those reasons be for beiniemy and none of them have anything remotely close to 5 straight afc championship game appearances.

So then why is KC anxious for EB to move on??? He has had issues with Mahomes and Kelce. So in your mind EB was the mastermind all this time and not Reid? Those 2 walkin TDs were part of his game planning? ![]()
In the real world I doubt if many top coaches have a record or a checkered past. Doesn't mean they are perfect or without character defects and flaws.

Somebody on here predicted that Bieniemy would land with the Commanders. Some predicted he would succeed Fat Andy when he retired.

In 2023 if Reid retires, EB is the coach (if he's still there). Anybody want any action on that, I'll take it all, because there is no way, they'd hire someone else and not promote him.
It's not even in their control at this point. The blowback on them not promoting him would the worse thing you've ever heard in your life. The Chief ownership/management would be scorned for life. Could you imagine the protests? I was at the SB last Sunday. There was people chanting something that appeared to be Native Americans. When we got closer, the chant was "Change the name, stop the chop"... Seriously? Of all the things that they could assist the Native Americans with, they Chiefs football team name is worth wasting your Sunday on? I was stunned. I live in Arizona, it would've been a better use of their time to go and help clean their yards.
Come on now, I don't know why he would leave with that inheritance coming to go be OC for the Commies? Ownership problems, qb problems, etc. He's got Magic Mahomes to coach. I can't explain why he'd leave there, it makes no sense.

You might want to update your info?
My take in this matter was more accurate because my sources were more accurate. Alternative media is where 'truth' is discussed nowadays.

I do wish EB well. He has his work cut out for him in DC, they need upgrades at the skill positions and maybe at QB? High expectations of an instant offensive turnaround immediately are unreasonable because progress takes time. A legit franchise QB makes everyone look good.
