Why I don't read books

Why I don't read books I believe that educating yourself by reading books is self-defeating, just like gambling and winning money at  50 dragons slot machines . Nobody learns in this way today. Reading is a passive method of absorbing information. Education today is through an active method. Through discussions, debates, arguments. A modern person learns through practice and creativity. Through finding new solutions to new challenges, based not on systemic, but partial knowledge. This partial knowledge is advice of a colleague, a case from a business trainer, a paragraph from Wikipedia. No one today sits down to read a book in order to solve a problem. No, everyone turns to a neighbour or Google.

Revisionist history and propaganda make most reading pointless.

Depends what you are trying to learn. There’s a lot of wisdom in older and ancient texts.
