I am big on GC this season under new coach Joey Wright, Excellent additions of Vukona who looked to have improved his offensive game dramatically in the NZ v au games, plus Adam Gibson who I rate pretty highly. Imports are a somewhat unknown but resumes and performance in preseason games suggest they are decent. I think they are a decent title shot.

Adelaide recycle another has been import in Cortez Groves, who has been poor for several seasons. Jacob Holmes still seems an important part of the roster despite not doing much in recent seasons either. Ballinger counts as a local now which is a major plus, but losing Maher and Schensher is bad news for mine. My tip for the wooden spoon.

I agree that NZ should be title favourites. A couple of new young players should freshen things up, but the core is pretty much unchanged.

Perth have gone with familiar strategy of building a wall with Schensher, Rogers, Cattalini and Redhage. My feeling this won't work particularly well and i see it as confirmation of my belief coach doesn't know what he is doing.

NZ did well in the preseason comp playing without Bruton, who is set to play although a little under done.

NZ came out smoking last season winning 4 of 5 at home, although the loss was to Cairns

like your first futures play there Bino, the Blaze have some younger legs and quickness in their roster this season, and the Joey Wright factor is BIG.

Bad luck on that total. It was close both ways.

Can see how people have Wollongong as wooden spoon favourites by looking on the team on paper. However, it seems clear that they are highly motivated and playing with alot of spirit. There win in the preseason comp can hardly be considered a fluke in my opinion when they won all three games handily against quality opposition:

- 2nd favourite Melbourne by 6

- GC by 17, GC won their other two games

- NZ by 6, title favourites

throw in that they scored more points over the tournament than any other team by plenty.

This should be an emotional first game for the new community club.

Perth have some big names on paper, supposedly they have only had four practices with the full team. Lost all three games at the preseason comp.

Hawks to play uptempo on cause big wildcats team problems.

As above, I like the GC team. 

Townsville look ok, they have added veterans in Crawford and Hoare, plus Roland Roberts who is solid. When Williams is on they are difficult to beat.

GC beat them by a point in the third round of the preseason comp, throw in home court advantage and I think the line should be 3 or 4.

Bit of an ask to back up from a game in NZ on Thursday, but at this point of the season shouldn't be a huge issue and having a game under their belt should be a benefit. 

Taipans beat them by 10 in the preseason although Adelaide were missing several players.

Adelaide have been a terrible road team in recent times so I like Cairns chances of covering a small number.

Ouch, that total is too low for an attacking Adelaide side, but you're right, it should go under. It's up there so it's an automatic under, but I think the books are going to be spot on the money earlier this season than what they were last season.

Tough on the Under in the 36's game Bin, but looks ok to start the season off
