Thats the way take it to him verbally. Even though it wasn't justified.

He is soft and weak minded. Take to him verbally and it will effect him more than many others.

Pattinson has a bit of go in him - that's what Australia were doing when they were number 1. Australia's fall from grace has also coincided with them playing 'nicer'.

    Yeah its good to see.

Its a worldwide thing with it happening much less.
    1) the umpires let much less go unfortunately 2) So much cricket they play now, some close to meaningless the players have become much more numb.

Absolutely.. Smith isn't going to be intimidated by much if anything on a cricket field.. The verbal may be effective against him from the point of view of dragging his concentration away from where it should be as he tends to engage back if someone has a go at him

    Disagree, here's why :

Batting, he is completely in his comfort zone.
Take him out of his comfort zone eg. clever and aggressive verbal
    and he is more vulnerable.

Its the cleverness and aggression of the verbal that is the key to it. How well you get under their skin.

Pattinson looked like he did it well today.

Smith has been sledged by a lot better bowlers then Pattinson, being sledged by a youngster with a gay haircut wouldn't bother a veteran

    Best sledge ever

McGrath to Ramnaresh Sarwan: "So what does Brian Lara's di*k taste like?"Sarwan: "I don't know. Ask your wife

    This one is better

Fred Trueman - While bowling the batsman edges and the ball goes to first slip, and right between Raman Subba Row's legs. Fred doesn't say a word. At the end of the over, Row ambles past Trueman and apologises sheepishly. "I should've kept my legs together, Fred". "So should your mother," he replied.

McGrath's late wife (god rest her soul) was in the firing line a fair bit. What about this one between 'pidgeon' and former SA player Eddo Brandes ...

McGrath: "how come you're so fat?"

Brandes: "because every time I fuck your wife she gives me a biscuit"
