I think Essendon are a couple of levels below the Bulldogs. For mine so far this season, many of the Bulldogs are playing near as well as they have ever played or better. Alot of players who were hot in 2006 but ordinairy in 2007 are hot again in 2008: Griffen, Morris, Murphy, Lake and Hahn are potential all australians if they continue to play the way they have so far. 

 

I don't think Essendon's form is that strong. North were horrendous in the second half against them in round 1, they were made to look like amateurs against Geelong and they beat an improved Carlton in the last few minutes, who even Richmond beat.

Geelong dominate at Telstra Dome and after a sloppy showing last week I think they will be ready to play against the side some misguided judges rank second best in the comp.

 

St Kilda got dominated by the Bulldogs running game after quarter time last week and I think Geelong should be able to do similar. St Kilda look great on paper, but i think alot of their players have not been playing near their best so far. St Kilda may get it together, or stodge up the game so it is low scoring but i am betting against it.

 

Weather forecast suggests chance of showers. I think Mellbourne aren't as bad as their first two rounds suggest and will make a contest of it.

Away form for Bris and WC is poor albeit only one game.

 

WC starting to look sketchy on paper to me. Still have alot of experienced players but not enough quality and not enough have been playing near their best. Looks like a perfect night for football and I think Sydney may kick a big score which I cant see West Coast.

 

I am not huge on Brisbane and think Port desparate for a win should be too strong for them.

I like both these teams but reckon Hawthorn is the better of the two all things being equal, although probably not by 15 points.

 

I don't think all things are equal in this one as Port's moose last night suggests to me Adelaide will struggle to get up for this one after last weeks showdown, where they put in a massive effort to win.

 

Hawthorn to run over Adelaide as they did to NM last week.

 

 

Ecoute I agree stats are hard to find. Do you happen to know where you can get the effective kicks and handballs at the team level?
