What do you think of the Collingwood game and Hawthorne?

I'm thinking of a $500 multi on Collingwood, Hawthorne, Geelong, All Blacks and USA winner world champs return $1800ish which will give me enough $$$ for a short trip overseas.

No big deal if I lose as its 3/5 my weekly pay.

IMO collingwood and hawthorn are good things.
However you never know with the Derby matches between Collingwood and Carlton sometimes the underdog gets up for the big one, I don't see it happening however.

I think they are pretty safe bets to be honest, but don't see much value in the line hence passed.  I could never recommend the All Blacks I'm sorry, hahaah I'm an aussie.  Probably the All Blacks will win however, my interests don't really go too far into Union.  I'm sure you follow it being a kiwi.

I have decided to sway away from putting that much money on a multi as usually its the last option that loses for me. Instead, I've done Geelong, Hawthorne, Colllingwood, AB's, & Parramatta.

I usually resort to a few parameters when betting AFL games. 1) read previews from AFL.com.au then Sportal.com.au (while looking at the ranked members picks), 2) Watch the trend on bet365 and tab.co.nz  3) read the forums here to see what you guys think

AFL is quite new to me as I only started following it this year and we only get 1 game of coverage here a week if lucky. Nobody I knows of or seen at the various TABs here ever punt on AFL. Us kiwis think its a box game, but I'd like to think its one of the most skillful games as its so fast pace with limited stoppages

It's my favourite sport and I wouldn't think it's a box game at all but a lot of the heavy contact has been taken out of it in recent years to minimise serious injury.  The difference with Rugby is that you can see the hit coming and know how to prepare most of the time, AFL you can get hit from any direction with some guys moving a hell of a lot faster. Nice to know you read what some of us guys have to say about the games, there is some good knowledge and opinions going around.

kiwipride...not all kiwis think that...i have follwed it for the past 4 years and have bet alot on it....although many dont understand the rules and  plays of the game, it runs along the same line as NFL...us kiwis dont give a s*** about what we dont want to know.

I know a few Aussies who think Rules is a box game.

I don't get it.

The stamina needed for that game is unreal.  More than soccer, methinks.

I just wish they let the boys put the biffo into it a little more.  And the over-the-shoulder marking back into it.  Now it's always whistled down.

Takes away from the spectacle.  I love the old-style Aussie Rules.  Great game.

And this is coming from an American who didn't grow up on it.

Just one watch of it back in the '80's when I was a kid and I was hooked.

Solid sport for anyone who decides to give it a chance. 

Ya Garth we'll all be at Catherines place watching the Parra/Sydney game.

Chasing my loss got AB's and Geelong.
