AFL 'Live' Coverage on Free-to-air-TV

You need to move to vic, you'll get usually 4 live games on free to air and if you get foxtel you will get the other 4 live.

I do sympathise with you, it is truly ridiculous.  They need to do something about this.

I hate to say it but this is the way it has been and will be. The AFL signed its contract with 7 / 10 as well as Foxtel for some years. It doesn't look like Telstra will start offering live streaming (TV) of the games either anytime soon like what you see with MLB.TV.

The only thing I can suggest to you mate is to sign up to Foxtel and accept radio / internet coverage. Channel 10 is a little sympathetic I think I noticed that they recently started showing 'Before the game' on Ten HD...... in NSW...... before the game...... even though the evening games are shown at 11:30pm.

From what you say mate. The football state of SA sounds worse than the League state.

Yeh it's not good gentleman!  Foxtel is out of reach for the time being as we have just had our first bub. Waiting Telstra will be a very very long process, and the radio is 'ok' but listening to past players who want to be coaches, or 'old' commentators who use the same catch cry they used 10 years ago on both radio and TV is starting to wear a little thin.

The final straw was the Nth Melb Vs Syd game (in Melb) that was delayed in Adel for 1 and 1/2 hours...what the fuck for I don't know.  I'll see if I can get to the bottom of it and fill you guys in just for interest sake.

You should be getting 4 games a week on free to air - Friday night (7), Saturday arvo and night (both 10) and Sunday arvo. I cannot see why all of these games are not live. Obviously, this week the Friday arvo replaced the Sat arvo.

Be thankful you are not in Sydney. Friday and Saturday nights we will be lucky to get the game before 10.30pm. saturday arvo is fine. quite often we get the v8's on sunday arvo before we get the 2nd half of the game. All this is live if the Swans are playing.

thankfully I have fox, and therefore the Friday night game on 7 and Saturday night 10 game are shown live on the Main event channel

Moving houses this week and will be getting satellite.  Three live AFL games every round, plus highlights and replays.

Plus, times are are 11:00 p.m./12:00 a.m. local here so perfect for taking a nap, getting up, cracking open the Newcastles, and watching some footy.

Werd that!
